You know... i used to be very opinionated, strongly too.
however, i wish to no longer partake in politics... in fact i am turned off by politics...
politics are the reason good dj's don't get booked and crappy ones still play gigs 4 times a month in good hollywood clubs.
i say, blah blah blah...
just play good music. hehehee.
:D
and now... here's some comic relief!

| I'm surprised that so many people here are giving so much attention to BPM when it has a relatively small bearing on the heaviness of the track. If I got on at 10:30 and started blasting techno bombs at 125 bpm i'd be doing a terrible job regardless of how "fast" the beats were. Obviously BPM is important, but its far from being the most significant way to judge the "appropriateness" of a track at a given time slot. A peak hour trance tune pitched down to 130 is still a peak hour trance tune, it's just being played a bit slower than the producer intended. |

The best act to open for hands down is Infected Mushroom. There is nothing you can play that will out-do their intensity lol |
so true for Astrix too. I got to open for him 3 times at Miki's old psytrance parties, and I knew that the biggest tracks I had would not stand anywhere near what he was going to play, Those were hands down the hardest sets I ever got to play in a main room. |

Doesn't this thread pop up every couple of months? Maybe that's just in the music discussion forum, but I feel like this has been said so many times. Which leads me to ask the question, why are there still ty opening DJs? |
ya it does, but being an opening dj isn't about being any good at djing. far too often it's about how many people from your guestlist show up before 11 and buy drinks at the bar. |

It sometimes comes up in a thread for an event, which I'm sure a lot of peeps here never clicked on (like no reason most LA folks will click on SF event threads). This is prob the first general thread regarding the subject...
A good topic. :-p |

Your 100% right. I meant to mention that too and it slipped |

grammar police!
Roll- some of you eat them
roll around in the grass
roll call of Ta's going to an event.
Role- a behavior you should exhibit. "everyone should play a role in making our community a better place.
dj openers have a Role, not a Roll.:gsmile: |

tons of hobbies, no pestering either. saw it was incorrect by a couple people, so i pointed it out. and done so in a non-abrasive manner.
if you get butthurt from a correction then i'd hate to have been one of your teachers growing up, since i'm sure you made mistakes. |
