nothing like white guys stealing black music, history repeating itself I guess.

You're aware that, track title and artist name aside, W+L give credit to the original as much as possible, correct? Please tell me, how do you put liner notes in a release that only comes in mp3 format?

what can you expect from a group that makes their name on ripping off old disco tracks then slapping their name on it and charging $2.49/track on beatport? I'm all for white labels/bootlegs/remixing but when you take the main component of a track, put a drum beat behind it, then call it your own and have the ing audacity to release it digitally and charge full price for it you deserve to be owned up the ass in my opinion. wolf + lamb is the the first label I've actively boycotted for this reason. what they've done with that stevie wonder edit is ing shameful, I hope lawyers crawl so far up their asses they're never able to pay off their debt.

If you're talking about the Soul Clap edits, those guys have been making edits of old songs for quite a while now and they are releasing them because people WANT them. Those two white guys have more funk than almost anyone making dance music right now and their original productions back that up. They're putting out these edits because they love the music not because they're trying to rip off Stevie Wonder.

not to start a trend here since a few people already posted comments on your post, but i'm surprised you'd jump to conclusions so fast. i mean, i'm not sure if you fully understand what the label is all about. if you see the video someone posted earlier in the thread (i think it was stevo) they even say that these edits were not even planned to be released but people enjoyed them some much they created "black". i mean it's a small label dude, people know each other right now and their demands are met by producers. there is no harm intended by the producers, i can assure you that.

New episode from Gadi. Listening right now, some good stuff here.

Arthur Russell - This Is How We Walk on the Moon

That one totally caught me off guard, one of my favorite tracks and I hadn't heard it in years.

soul clap is really killin it right now w/ their edits and productions. i whore their tracks out around town and always get a great reaction. i really wish i could get a copy of that janet jackson edit.

that's nice that people want them, ok. but it's still illegal. you don't think they have the rights to that music, do you? b/c they don't. i happened to ask that question to a very close personal friend of theirs, who will go unnamed.

Nobody's saying they do.

well by that logic we should all be stealing our music from blogs/p2p sites.

Wow. :stongue:

so it's ok to rip off steve wonder.... but not ok to steal Tiesto - Traffic from kazaa?

frankly, i could give 2 s about stevie wonder, or W+L for that matter.

i just fail to see how "they are the funkiest guys in dance music" translates to "let's buy music that was stolen"
