Yea I think it's important to clarify that those who don't adopt the victim mentality but rather work through the problems are the ones I have the most respect for. The most brave and honest women, black people, whatever that I have come across are the ones that didn't just retreat into the victim mentality. Rather they accepted what happened in the past and still does to a certain extent, but work to move on with life and live it as much as possible.
If you're just going to sit there and complain all day about how bad things are, you'll never get anything done.
If on the other hand you accept what's happening and then work towards a solution and don't let things drag you down, you'll get far in life.
Most of my female friends are exactly the types that don't let people walk all over them and I never ever hear them speak about inequality. Why? Because them complaining about it will makes things worse in most cases. Nobody likes a whinger. |

The sad thing, is that the moment you question their victim mentality, you are immediately a racist/chauvinist/whatever and are totally against them. |

Unfortunately. If only there was a good way to combat it. |

It's just frustrating.
As soon as I make a comment about black people or any ethnic minority, I'm a racist.
As soon as I say something about a woman, I'm a chauvanistic, young white, sexist male.
You can't ing win.
The bigger problem then is they alienate the very people that are trying to help them. |

I agree with Fledz whole heartedly...
I just want to add my 2cents, in that i hate those feminists who sit on the computer all day bitching about other people's views when they should actually get off their asses and do something more constructive rather than taking said on the internet so ing serious.
Only reason why i've mentioned is in the past I've copped a few words here and there from some feminist bitches about things I've said.. |

| Yeah, I have had the same problems. You criticise anyone for anything that is in any way, shape, or form remotely related to their gender or ethnic origin, and you are already an . Pisses me right the off, but I just try to avoid it now, unless I am around more educated folk. |

I can agree with this, but...
Do you personally even want to do anything that would have been impossible or very difficult for you to do before the second ('50 - '60s) wave of feminism came about? I mean, you pretty much live off of your boyfriend's salary, no? |
lol WHAT? no i ing don't. jesus you people really just pull out of your asses don't you. you're worse than the goddamn national inquirer.
even when i was collecting unemployment i was paying all of my own bills including my portion of the rent here. i dont understand where you got that from, i've never said that. oh right, i must have mentioned how he pays for dinner or something right? so that means i'm living on his salary:stongue: |

take it easy lol.. we know already that you're going to pay for your own engagement ring.
And by the way.. women in society have an easier time (way easier) in getting admin/ entry level jobs. and when it comes down to making cuts in a company they are usually the last ones to be cut. They are somewhat like minorities and a certain quota is preferable for a company to have a decent ratio of race and sex.
I've observed this first hand.
Its like black people complaining that they are poor.
Take a ing look we have a black president.
How often do you see homeless women compared to homeless men?
at least women can work as strippers and completely rake in the cash worst comes to worse.
Don't give me this inequality feminist bull. |

lots of rage in this thread... perfect!
I hate rich people who brag about or publicise their 'charity'... wow, you give one million dollars to charity: that's .1% of your income, and that impresses the peasents but that's because they have no perspective...
oprah isn't too bad, just giving cars away to wealthy middle-class americans... very charitable :haha:
bono is the worst: U2 had a gig down here a couple years ago, it took 2 747s to fly down the stage for the gig... THEN he continued to preach to people who had paid for the 150 dollar tickets about how they should donate to some charity.....
i hope i don't have to point out the insane hypocrisy in this case...
the same goes for oprah: i'm not aware of the past, and basically i don't think i should be. Everyone has ed up in their past, it should NEVER be used to increase profits and sympathies in my opinion...
and oprah always goes on about people being themselves and , while preaching her consumerist bull... i still clearly remember an episode in which she went somewhere and couldn't wear make-up.. i literally could not recognise her.
be yourselves, people! :stongue: :sadgreen: |
