i think it is just a difference in wording.
at least here we refer to them as restaurants, even if they stay open for drinking later than the kitchen.
we have pubs that have food, but if there is a video poker machine in the place (which all pubs have because they tend to be cheap and appeal to a demographic that likes to do that kind of thing) no one under 18 is allowed even to eat. |

| in Wisconsin you can legally drink alcohol at any bar if you are underage as long as you are there with your parents. |

i think it is in bad taste, if you need to drink that badly that you need to drag your kids with you, it is time for the intervention as the next step involves selling their anuses for a fix imo. |
