Yeah like said, you are incapable of dealing with the fact that there are things people like and things that people dislike, and those are the basis of most people's opinions about anything.
You're going to have a lot of trouble as an artist if you can't take the fact that people do not have to like everything and anything. People can on whatever they want, people can tear down the very art you find most amazing and people can hate what you make. Thats just the way it is. Personally I'm ing glad. I like people who are opinionated and honest. |

Since i've already handled the troll committe with evidence of their chronic trolling behaviour. I'll focus on someone a bit more reasonable. I have no problem with dealing with opinions, they are what they are. The problem is opinions are often sold here as more than opinions, they are sold as facts and the divine truth. And then when you have a stockpile of the same people everytime, it starts to get ridiculous, and people who have differing opinions cant even have their opinions about music anymore (evidence = Music Discussion forum). So indeed there is nothing wrong with opinions, but the problem is opinions are often abused. If you think about it, I am doing what these same people do to others in MD and have for years now...but at least im standing up for something good, while they simply are standing up for their own taste when they attack others for liking different music they do. I'm not attacking anyones taste or right to opinion here, just peoples trollish behaviour on a culture based music forum. 99.9% of TA are good people, just 0.01% who have abused this forum for a long time are who I dont mind taking issue with. |

I see lots of differing opinions on Music Discussion. Personally I try to keep slagging other people for their taste to a bare minimum, but I do it when I think someone is being a . People from all tastes get flack in music discussion, I can find examples across the board. The "unhealthy discussion" you talk about is just the way people are in reality, reflected on this forum. It's not new, or unique, or special. This is the way people are in real life too, on TV, in print, in almost any social forum. Go in the politics forum here and see what a cuddle puddle that place is.
It bothers you a lot for some reason, to the point where you're making up this idea that it's unusual. I don't care at all. The only opinions I care about are those that come from people I respect. |

I think that is the jist of it. Some dont actually care about anyone elses opinions but their circle of friends (people they respect), and thats part of the problem on any social scale, when a clique is formed pushing that one opinion. And other peoples opinions fall under the "you have bad taste" "that is " "you are ".
So dont get it twisted, I'm not downing anyones opinions here, just that particular behavior by the typical trolls that put thresholds on a music culture/industry/scene throughout the site. |
