All jurors are given instructions by the judge as to what they should and shouldn't taken into account when basing their opinion. If a juror says they are not able to base their opinion on the merits of the case, then they are not fit to be a juror (and yes, each of them swear to their ability to do this, under oath). Tranceaddict should not be held responsible. If it were, then you're basically saying that the entire forum should be shut down b/c you could make that argument for any drug thread or criminal act that has been discussed on here. |

this is exactly what i was trying to imply. I didn't know the person, i did see him out a few times but that's about it. There really is nothing for us to discuss in this case because we've already been told everything on the news, what is the point of having a thread where people will just go "wow omg thats so ed up". I don't see any benefit in discussing this because all it stirs up is possible speculation. my personal opinion. |

Even if people just say "wow omg that so ed up", what is the problem with that? We do this in a million other threads. What makes this one any different? Because of the topic? That is just hypocritical. Weather or not someone here knew they guy or not should not matter at all. |

but dude. a forum is meant for people to all say "OMG, that's ed up" or "sorry to the person that died". people go on forums to feel like they belong and that someone else out there in this world feels like they do and reads what they are saying. people just want to feel a part of a community anywhere. i would rather come on here and talk about it with people that may be closer to the story than i am so i don't speculate on my own in my head.
from this discussion, i already know that a bunch of people here knew the guy and obviously this was out of character for this particular person or so they thought. that definitely helps the speculation and not promotes it. |

Yea, it's sad, I know the guy too and this is a shock to me as well. I understand some of you want the topic closed but this isn't rumour, gossip or innuendo...nor are the comments here of a libelous nature.
People should be free to discuss/express their opinions without worrying about getting muzzled. |

| I met Johnny a few years ago and even hung out with him and a group of other friends a couple times. Seemed like a decent guy. This is shocking to me. My thoughts and prayers are with the family. |
