Listen, i also live in a third world country and i know how hard it is to come by 'good' events.. but im pretty sure he didnt had anything to do with playing only one.5 hours. If you had the slightest knowledge of how an event is layout you will know that most of the time it comes down to the amount the promoter will(or as it happens in our countries, can) pay.
SOOO shut up and suck it up. You paid for a table so you werent that short on money.. also paying 40 for deadmau5.. wtf yo |

Well, $40 was for VIP. $25 was GA.
I guess one of the issues could be that the promoter didn't pay him for more than an hour. However, I must say that the week before Tiesto also came to Panama and he played for 3-4 hrs. I can imagine both of them charging relatively the same amount of dollars per gig so in my eyes, yes, deadmau5 was doing his job and what he was hired to do, but this isn't West Point. He could've still played a longer set. Again, I feel no sympathy for him travelling around the world.
Anyway, I was just venting but I guess this thread is no longer relevant. |

MrMystery: I'll tell you how things rolled out. The event was advertised as a deadmau5's gig. No one ever mentioned a line-up. Usually, when dj's of his stature come to town, they play a long set, which you can see from Tiesto's gig the previous week. That's why people were disappointed. Had the organizers mentioned this before the gig, I think people would've thought twice before dropping $40, or even $25 bucks.
In any case, after deadmau5's mediocre set some weird ass Canadian dj got on. Now that's when people got turned off. Look, I have nothing against that dj that came after but people came to see deadmau5 not someone else, not even someone local. period.
I know for a fact that if deadmau5 would've asked to play longer, no one would've had a problem with it. Maybe the only one who would've suffered was the promoter. It wasn't a festival with 10 djs. There were a few locals and 2 foreigners (deadmau5 and the canadian dj). People here love to party, it was Saturday night and the event could've gone well into Sunday morning so time was definitely NOT an issue. |
