The most abused term in edm... (pg. 2)

i would say most people who don't listen to techno don't know or never figured out exactly what it is, but only people who don't listen to edm with any interest at all consider pretty much any and all of it "techno music" and will confidently misuse the term, especially when trying to mock cheesy music.

prog, i hear more trance people misuse this label than house people, but i don't think 90% of the stuff people describe as "prog trance", "prog house" or "prog" is very progressive at all.

epic... god i hate people that use this ing word to describe everything. omg that party was epic! tiesto in vegas - can you say epic? armin was so epic last night! dude he dropped this epic track at midnight! the epic sound in that epic club with those epic pills was so epic! have you ever met anyone like that?

"Organic". It pisses me off when people think this refers to live instruments. Organic is not the antonym of synthetic. A saxophone is not an organism. It's a piece of metal.

Techno, for sure. Like most people have said it seems that's it's the people who have no idea what they're talking about that use it the most. A friend of mine who has no interest in EDM at all actually tried arguing with me that all EDM is techno because it "uses technology". He knows that he's being an idiot though, so it's ok but the people who like EDM and still call it all techno are the worst. I know a guy who was talking about Paul Oakenfold and Daft Punk and he called them both techno. FFS you would think a person who likes the music would know better.

you know what really grinds my gears:

putting a picture of scantily clad females (sometimes w/ headphones) on your flyer regardless of genre, location, and line-up.
