Looks like you and I might be ending up with the same exact setup. I use a Macbook Pro and I got a Xone:32 as well. :)
I started a thread on the NI forums regarding this as well. |

| do they work as a "normal" soundcard and midicontroller too? like can i produce music in lets say Reason or Logic or Ableton with the cdj as soundcard and midicontroller? Whats the soundquality of the DACs in this thing btw? |

I can beatmatch just fine thanks. Its more the fact that the way my techs "interact" with traktor that is the problem. like when I have the pitch at 0 everything is fine but when its anything but 0 it doesnt seem to hold the pitch exactly. probably because my techs are sketchy used ones that need to be serviced.
Its not that I can't beatmatch them, its just that beatmatching on CDJs can be done in like under 10 seconds and you dont have to fuss with it as much. its nice just lining up the songs and not having to worry about it, and you can worry less about beatmatching and more about mixing. The +/- 8% pitch range is a little annoying considering like 90% of the songs I have are between 124 and 128 bpm. I'm just lazy and like the simplicity of the CDJs. Its not that I am incapable of beatmatching with vinyl turntables. |

Strange, 'cuz I play wobbly old slabs of vinyl on three turntables and for the better part it takes me less than 10 seconds to lock up my tracks, after which I rarely have to fuss with them. Guess 25 years of practice will do that.
Unless your decks are completely used, abused and in need of servicing, your mixes don't hold because you don't have them locked. It's an analogue slider, so of course it requires a bit more finesse, but it's lame to blame your gear for something you're admittedly too lazy to master.
Have fun with your CDJs... |

I have found that it's easier to really "lock" real vinyl than it is with timecode. Timecode requires teeny little pitch riding to keep things super tight. It does take a good amount of practice. |

| Ironically, I find it easier to beatmatch on my crappy old CDJ-700s with horrid .1% pitch resolution than I do with my Technics 1210s. Once it's locked on the turntables, it stays there much longer, but I can "get it there" way quicker on the CDJs. Just something I found interesting. |

| Incorrect assumption on my part, as I have limited experience on today's CDJs. |

effects matter when choosing to buy a CDJ? lol
i think this was the last thing on my mind when i go CDJ shopping |
