Because for a lot of people, those parties were the best thing about Atlanta. And like I said, these DJs were not playing to an empty room. Bazzaar was absolutely packed for a lot of these, and it was a good move on the promoters' part to book them there rather a bigger club they couldn't get halfway full. There was never any lack of energy, and we still got great sets out of them. Like I said, you weren't there so your opinion holds little weight.

lets quit talking about opinion, show me some video

I don't know if there are any. I went to the events, so I don't need to watch the videos to say if they were good or not. Although in my eyes a 5 minute YouTube quality video would hardly be telling of how an entire night was.

Why are you guys arguing and debating with plurbunnies who want Andy Moor to ride in on some majestic winged wyvern on a prayer and a sidechained bassline?

After reading this thread, it's pretty apparent Atlanta has very few hardcore dance music fans, and to make it worse, they're all split on which type is "good" or "makes a good show."

There is a reason nothing is going on. People lose money when they make one epic show for a small group of people.

You people whine too much. And this is coming from a guy who whined about all the fanboys that go to Opera for Armin/Tiesto/PvD/etc.

Ever since I joined this forum a couple of years ago, it seems like the only thing that actually gets talked about is how there is nothing going on, only to get told about some amazing dubstep or breaks show happening at some random small venue.

Gotten old. How those of you who have been registered here longer than me can stand it is amazing.

But seriously...can the people whining about the lack of trance stop. And can the people who think their dubstep parties would be fun for those people just stop suggesting them to those people? By all means, keep promoting your dubstep parties, but stop suggesting to the tranceaddicts, please? All it does is create some random ass gay little feud that always results in this.

Let the people who are upset about the lack of shows they want to see complain until they get bored of it, just ignore them. Let the fire burn out.

I have to say "no name DJs" is one of the most insulting things I have heard thrown around in this thread. Its reeks of close-mindedness. Where do we go to find out who the "named DJs" are? Do we look at the Charlotte line-ups? Because I will be straight up honest with you... I have not heard of 90% of them. They are "no name DJs" to me. I'm guessing since this is the Tranceaddict forum they are trance DJs?

Anyway, 90% of these "named DJs" are nothing more than flashes in the pan and will disappear into obscurity in two years or less.

Simply put, the majority of your "named DJs" are actually just niche DJs that nobody outside of your bubble has heard - which is exactly the same as the DJs listed for the Atlanta events that you keep poo-pooing on. TBH, I hadn't heard of them either. But I don't let whether or not I have heard of somebody get in the way of me having a good time.

Oh, for the record, Bazaar was a lounge/ resturant and not a club. It was open to trying different things, and so some nights floroushed there. But, it did not even have a real dancefloor, until the evening when tables were moved. The owners decision to rebrand had absolutely nothing to due with any percieved success as a nightclub. They did not want it to be a nightclub - and it was starting to turn into one. Don't take the fact that Bazaar is no more to mean anything other than the owner wanted to rebrand. I went there on many nights and the vibe was so think you could cut it with a knife. I think King Britt was my favorite, but there were many more. You know why a lounge, with no dance floor, no light show, and no real permenantly installed soundsystem went off so often? Because the people who went were all there for the music. I'll take an event with 100 people all there for the music over an event with 2000 people who are only there because they heard its where they should go and they needed somewhere to sport thier new Ed Hardy shirt any day of the week (preferably Fri or Sat).

I will admit that it is hard to "do it yourself" as a handful of you guys keep saying. A group of my friends who are passionate about the music did such a thing. We had a spot right OTP and did a few nights with even more well known locals like sublime and mayhem. The place was roomy, even served food all night, and we did everything ourselves, for free. There was never a cover, and we used home built speakers that produced something like 12,000 watts of sound. Never really brought anyone out.

I can say, though, since we did everything ourselves, I can almost guarantee nobody could possibly have any complaints of rude staff. We were the staff.
CyclonesWorld
That went really well considering the place closed down eh? :P

We kinda gave up on it well before then. Sad, though... they had some menu items I can't find anywhere else. But everything in that strip was struggling.

YOU would be lucky to get 100 people on a dance floor...
