| Maybe because it's so ing cold outside nobody wants to do anything. Did they ever get the LED ceiling in? |

| Maybe someone here can answer this. I always loved the Tabernacle as a venue; how come there aren't any more electronic events there? |

| I just wish we had a consistent venue. A place where we could always go and hear good music, whether by local DJ's, big name DJ's, whatever. It's becoming too big of a hassle to have to search and plan for any decent night out. |

There are many reasons if you speculate (i am not positive since I have not thrown a party at the tabernacle or ever talked to anyone who has):
1. Up front reservation cost
2. Ticketmaster venue so all tickets comes with those crazy ticketmaster fees.
3. Labor is usually done by in house people at additional cost
4. The venue gets to keep all of the bar profit
5. Holds 2400 people and with that most DJ's rate goes up so with the above items it becomes less profitable than throwing something at Opera.
Lets face it, if you were going to throw a party you would want to make more money for less hassle and utilizing a venue like Opera offers just that. |

I'm wondering if people will make the connection between low attendence numbers and "not seeing much going on at Filter these days."
Everyone wanted it - no one supported it. I just hope it isn't too late. But the unfortunate truth is what everyone wants on a forum and what is actually successful are two entirely different things. I played there like every Friday (upstairs) for two months or so and how many of you did I see there? |

Maybe i'm just out of the loop but theirs a lot of good disco house being released but i haven't heard anyone play it live. Apparently that style is getting pretty popular in places like LA but the closest i've heard is deep house at bars and other smaller venue's.
I mean if an Indie Dance night such as Yesss can get so popular then why not a Nu Disco night? |

Yesss is more that hipster electro stuff...pretty sure thats not what you have in mind. :p
I'm guessing the reason it got so big has more to do with the image/target audience than the music itself however. |
