That glow came from the two events I went to beforehand. Now THOSE parties had some good music.

Again, nothing wrong with markus, its just he keeps playing the same stuff over and over again. Ok, I get It, u like perspective space, but please, enough already.

CL ROCKED Pacha Nyc...Ronski speed sucked balls sorry to say, kept playing vocal crap. I'll probably go to Vola but ONLY for Stoneface and Terminal only b/c I'm hoping it'll be quality trancey with minimal vocals.

Looking at Leon Bolier's year end mix tracklist (below), there is a fair bit of techno in it, but it is not boring techno, and this type of techno has some melody.

The biggest issue with trance was(is) it that it became something that you could play on a piano; how many times did we see Armin in a break down, trying to play along to what ever song was on at the moment. Old trance didn't do that, it was a sound that was warped, and mostly would have been impossible to play on a music instrument, it had to be created in a studio. That's why new trance was more akin to dance/pop, it became accessible, with good and bad consequences.

In comes techno. Good luck playing a techno song on a piano, or any other musical instrument. Get back to that old type of feel, with modern sounds/filters/synths, and modern production quality, and we have our selves a ball game.

Now, I do not produce, so please take what I wrote with a grain of salt, as I have no idea what actually goes into producing a techno song, vs a trance song, I just know what they sound like in the end.

I love how things are going back to the beginning (sort of) where in techno it's all beats then melody is slowly creeping back into things more and more so that techier sounds with melody is what is making people love the sound. I found myself liking the beats initially b/c the fluff in trance was becoming WAY too generic and boring and didn't give me that same uplifting feeling I had before. But when similar melodies starting creeping into techno it just became AMAZING.

srsly stfu already
1 track only
his set was full with the most recent stuff at a time
you know if you actually listened to any of his prior GDJB's you'd what you're talking about
right now you're talking gibberish.
TRANCEEEE
Producers used to make an effort to make a track sound good... now it's all "pre-set" sounds, or whatever they're called, put together.
So many songs sound exactly the same such as: CHAKALAKA and PONG by Wippenberg or STARDUST and BLUEPRINT by Stoneface & Terminal.
Now it's become quantity over quality!

Originally despite the oversaturation of the trance sound (imo) is SADLY really lacking.
