ur right, I dont think they can fill up a massive with the names they bring (shame too)...but they should try to do something else, not a massive but a 2-3k ppl event, inside :p

Im sure it could work, they have a very good name, and if done right, im sure they can pull it off.

*misses piknik*

put it another way.

for joris voorn, there were what? 3000 maybe? (estimate)

how many people would there be if the ticket was 50$ and people could not bring their own booze.;)

It's stupid cause prices here are 100$+ to go to a BEB rave, whereas in Europe 30-40euros to go to an event twice the size and quality, bringing us back to.... Sponsorships...
Schadenfreude
sponsorships yes, but it all comes down to the good old "supply and demand" rule.

when there is a demand for your product, and people are willing to pay for it, you charge what you can get.

bal en blanc is a cash grab, yes.

they are a businees though, and last time i checked businesses are all about making money no matter what they are selling.

they are not unicef ffs.

They do get BC for free and split the money with Gillete entertainment, this is not the case with Palais Des Congres, which you can even check for yourself, is an extremely expensive venue.

they are making more money in europe than here no matter what the price of entry...point a la ligne.

well yes, theres other factors too.

it was during the day, like you said its more of a booze thing, etc.

i think if they have like 2-4 names for an afterhours event, i think people would pay 40-50 bucks

people pay 35 at stereo with not even knowing who is spinning?

Very good point, people went because it was Piknik and really one of the only decent Sundays this summer, myself & friends included. We didn't know or care who was playing, just like the people who go to BEB. We went for the event. That's what the majority of people tend to do in this city. Once you've established your event you can book who ever you feel like. Basically it comes down to whether or not the person doing the bookings has good taste and judgment.

I went to black and blue, and it was fine, i loved it. Again, most people didnt go because it was Sasha & Digweed, most people didnt go because its a known gay-event. If S&D were at Resolution, there would be the same if not more people attending. You truly think that (most) people now say, "hey Above & Beyond are playing, lets go" Like Mr. Freak said, drugs and the whole experience has a big part of the reasons. Most people just go to these massives because they want to party, be with freinds, 'get ed with 10,000' lol

put as much female skin at Black and Blue as you get at Bal en Blanc, reduce the gay numbers and stigma of a "gay rave" and that event sells out too.

Then all sorts of straight guys would go to Black and Blue looking for sex like djchez :p

Were there any professional pictures taken of Resolution? Anyone?

i disagree, if it were not for the gay crowd the city would be worse off. They generally have more disposable income than the straight crowd, so events that cater to them are a good thing.
