Hahahahaha i know im in the same boat 20 years old but everytime i try to buy a pack of blunts or something the person behind the counter is like "whaaaa you no 18 you look 16".....tryin to put tabs in your mouth though hahaha thats classic |

Are you sure? I hope it will be when Gareth comes... the audience was AWFUL at cosmic gate...
a couple drunk dudes in the middle punching random people... looked like they had intelligence of your average monkey. Then a ton of what looked like to me underaged high school girls... EVEN PARENTS lol. Then there was some rave slut wearing almost nothing dancing on one of the barrels, probably rolling balls lol.... who knows how old she was... why is this necessary?
God the EDM scene in housston sucks so bad... the only events here I have actually enjoyed SDC threw... SDC rules! |

idk ive only been once and i definitely saw some awkward parents there and a few of the dumbass beligerent guys...but i thought everyone at least looked of age...the thing about rich's is its a bar/club so you get these people who go just to get hammered and dont even realize that a dj is gonna be spinnin some crazy |

I had no problems at Rich's...there were some people too drunk, but as long as they aren't continuously running into me I don't care. Hell I get too drunk sometimes =/
As for a rave slut on a barrel. If she puts off good energy towards the crowd then let her do her thing haha
When I go to the club, I expect drunkeness, people on different drugs, Julios, & creepers. It probably wouldn't be a club experience without all that

Yeah Riches imo is alot better than most other clubs in Houston, mainly due to the fact it has good cool AC.
I think the audience was just really young because it was over the break for college kids. |

Politics. We had some guys that we were going to bring, already had offers in to their agents or were in process with them, then the club we were working with wouldn't allow us to bring those DJ's there because they were too big of names and they were concerned about their relationship with another promoter in town and pulling their shows from the venue. Understandable, but I think the way the Dallas scene has turned out is an example of what happens when you only let one promoter hold all of the cards. Everyone needs to work together, not just one.
Of course, two of those DJ's ended up being booked with the other promoter a month later, and that promoter ended up moving most of their shows last year to a different venue anyways. Funny how that worked out.
Its a waste of our time and money if they aren't going to let us bring who we want to play in Dallas to shape what we were trying to do, regardless of how big a name the DJ is. Not only were we trying to help the scene grow, but when you're helping a venue make money and they dictate who you can/can't bring in with your own cash like this, it's not worth the effort to help someone in that way. We talked about trying to work with another venue, but I think we were both just so disgusted with the way the Dallas scene has turned and were busy with our real jobs & personal life that it just wasn't worth the effort at the time.
Not saying we'd never throw another show in Dallas or at that venue, in fact have discussed a few lately, but at the time that's what happened. |
