Not a bad idea. |

| I say we chose the dj first then let him chose which track to play out made by a TA member |

Why not make a contest for us TA producers? Winner track gets played at the festival by the DJ who wins :eyes: |
this dj contest is already gonna be a lot of work for judging and you're suggesting ANOTHER contest? ugh. |

the main reason i suggested the 3 year time limit on tracks to swamper is to prevent some inactive djs from making a "classics" set because they havent bought new material in the last few years. the 3 year time limit will allow the individual to play some big floor fillers as well as fresh material.
having 1 track produced by a TA is a great idea but i see some problems stemming from that. if the track is not licensed then it would be too easy for someone to steal and rename a track as their own. there are some dishonest people out there that will do anything to win. if they are chosen as winner and we find out that they stole someone's track then that would open a whole can of worms.
i think club experience should be mandatory (sorry bedroom djs). this is a HUGE festival in belgium and we need a dj who has club experience so they dont "freeze up" from being nervous or try to steal the spotlight from the headliners. the winner needs to realize that he/she is not there as a headliner. ive seen far too many new djs that would open the night and bang it out so hard at from 10pm-12am like they were the headliner playing at 4am. |

I agree. Just let the DJ choose a TA's track. A self-produced track shouldn't satisfy that criteria, but if they could include one in addition to another TA's.
Personally, I'd love to hear a DJ mix of ONLY TA tunes. Is there such a thing? |

They are a few years old, but yes... check out the TranceAddicts UNITE series :)
TAU 3 ftw, imo. (And other random letters) |

The problem is that is all up to interpretation. What is a club? How many people have to be there for it to be legitimate? There are so many holes in that being used it's ridiculous. I've played out and thrown my own parties but there is no legitimate scene for Trance & Progressive here. There are many other places that are just like this if not worse.
If you were trying to increase your own probability of winning the contest; maybe you should put your focus on promoting yourself better so you don't need a contest such as this to boost your own standing and track record. |

Chinamon raises some good points...
I'm leaning towards making the selection of a TA production optional (but encouraged) and NOT putting a time limit on track selection age limitations (that's another headache to keep track of).
If your set kicks ass it kicks ass...it's safe enough to say that if your set is cookie-cutter is will be cookie-cutter whether it has newer tracks or older ones.
Yes? |

I tend to think that a set with no train-wreck and no TA track still ought to be favored over a set with both a train-wreck and a TA track...
So, without being heavily invested in the outcome, I say, "Yes."
If a set rocks, it rocks, no matter what's included with it. |

| So what’s the verdict guys? When can we expect to get the final criteria? |
