3 years ago when i had a VIP ultra ticket, it was POURING rain, like hurricane pouring, wind, etc. and I remember talking to someone who worked at Ultra--telling me how they're glad they don't spend a lot of money on decorations, elaborate set-ups with the exception of 2 stages that are mostly covered b/c the rain factor is always a gamble for them
MOST years its perfect weather...but the one year they plan on something bigger and spend the money will be the year it absolutely pours and destroys everything.

it started POURING at the end of the night. check out the 7th minute for the rain...

it was nuts...the rain was relentless ALL day, i bribed a trash lady for a trash bag to make a poncho cuz i was getting so cold.
it was absolutely nuts...but awesome at the same time, but hopefully one time like this is enough...

I dont think I would mind the basic setups as long as the talent is there, which it is. plus the price was right, $140 for both days is a good deal in my opinion, one place for 2 days (20 hours) to see/hear so many different djs.

yea i was there when it rained. people danced in the storage containers.

i think stage design and decor adds a lot to the festival experience. sure it rains but the decor and design doesnt get ruined by rain. Ultra has better lineups then most festivals but if they did go with some decor, at least basic stuff like not using white booths and decorate the entrance and what not - simple stuff like Insomniac does at their events - would add so much. Same though with lighting. The stage lightings are terrible. Tents are much better and even that is limited when comparing. Dont want to come off only complaining - ill be going saturday - just would think if they step up these factors it would be a festival not to miss for those even in countries that have the other festivals. I mean simple stuff like laser reflectors on the outdoor stages would add a lot.

the root society one is the same as at burning man...its cool to see UMF branching out and getting into the "hippie" edm side more...should be a really cool atmosphere to walk around and go from genre to genre.

The House Rocka

*EDIT* These are not the Official times -- so to prevent any further confusion I'm removing this. Sorry peeps!

you should look a few pages back...UMF posted demanding the other person who posted set times take it down immediately...apparently they dont want times released. don't be shocked if you get yelled at now
