yea thats what i said regarding above and beyond not being at their label event unless they can go around it by being oceanlab or doing a live set. Same for others. AM Only cant get artists now and other events as well. Pretty weak on Ultras part.

its really only because they charge so much.. if it had less artist and charged only $50 for the whole weekend it would be worth it..

i dont quite agree. some european festivals are just as expensive and its not an issue. but then again those festivals really bring in a load better artists and have an amazing production quality. comparing those to ultra really isnt even fair. the price mainly has to do with miami. because regular club nights here are more expensive than many many other cities.

my point is that because ultra has become such a focal point of wmc, they have a large influence and actually determine which artists come or dont come to miami. and by paying certain artists more for that exclusive tag, lets use armin as an example, they limit other artists that actually make the trip. one could argue that because armin isnt throwing his own party, whatever artists he would of brought with him (maybe w&w or someone like that) are now not coming. and that goes for many others as well. i mean its okay i guess that ulsra has a few exclusives like orbital, because where else would they really play anyway, but to completely monopolize artists the way they are is why i say ultra is ruining wmc.

I agree. Look I love festivals because they are so different from clubs. Take Mysteryland or Dance Valley - both amazing festivals. Full production everywhere - from stage design, to sound, decor, lighting, etc.

Ultra on the other hand invests nothing into it really so by it taking exclusivity on artists, its almost like it admits to its poor production and tries to go after both the people wanting to attend a festival and those who want to see certain artists.

If Ultra didnt pay extra for them, im sure we would have seen more artists that arent as big in the states make it into a label party or what not. So Ultra in a way both brings people to Miami for WMC and limits events going on during WMC as well.

Here's a high quality post of Phase 2 from the Ultra website. Some additions, but doesn't look like they finalized the image as many icons on there arent listed on any stage (posted several examples on the WMC General discussion post).

I don't get how the production is poor though? The Carl Cox tent is so massive with it's huge sound system and lights + lasers from the videos I saw.

its cuz you've never been to a real festival. once you go to one you'll understand what we mean. ;)

Regardless this line up is more than enough to sell for the masses. I wouldn't be surprised if it takes record again this year for amount of people attending.

i dunno about records, but yea you're right, the majority of people are cumming in their pants with this lineup.

EDC actually beat Ultra last year. And I am glad. Hope it pushes Ultra to invest more in design, decor, production, stage look, lighting, and sound.

CHeck out dancevalley or mysteryland videos and you will see what we mean by real festivals. And not talking about lineup. Sure stick to what you have if it works in the states, but step it up overall. Dont give me just a stage with heads and strobes and a crap laser and call it production haha.
