Getting your tracks to the biggest DJs ... is it even possible ?

Ok, so I found a list of all the bigger trance labels around and sent out a demo of my new tune. Like always, no answer except for automated "thank you" from some of them.

I also asked, if they are seriously not interested, for any feedback or advice which way to go with my stuff. Well ... nothing.

The tune is coming out on a smaller label eventually, so I'm ok with that, but how to reach for example Ferry, Armin or PvD with your tune ? Either for them to play it if they like it or to give any useful feedback ?

I might as well ask you, I was sending out the first track on my playlist on myspace www.myspace.com/chrissundive - I'm very happy with the result, so probably "its to ty to even comment" is not probably the answer. Any thoughts on that one ?

What's the question again?

And if you're looking to promote your work, you're in the wrong forum :o.

I'm looking to ask anyone with more experience than me, and the question is clearly stated. Thank you.

Well thanks for pointing that out and a friendly welcome. Much appreciated.

Is it not allowed to ask questions about sending your stuff to big names ? Or are you offended by me showing a demo of the track that I've sent to give a bit of context ?

Thx, thats what I was thinking. I have a feeling that my writing isn't ... sort of mature enough, don't know how to state it differently really, but after spending 2 weeks working on a project you don't really know what to think anymore :/ ;)

Anyone had luck to get a response from anyone big regarding their stuff ?

Where did I say I was offended?

If you read above you will clearly see me asking "What's the question again?", in regard to this...

Which you still haven't made clear to me.

Ask Subtle, he apparently did understand what I was mumbling about. To be more clear :

I was asking how to get any response from famous DJs and labels possibly, about the quality of ones work, giving a tune I was recently sending out as an example.

Hope that makes it clear for you sir : )

If your track has potential most labels will respond. If they don't, post your tracks somewhere like here to get some feedback on improving your productions.

Ok good to know. After spending months and eventually years learning production techniques etc. you just loose it at some point. Sometimes I don't even know if I'm making any progress at all, but I guess everyone gets trapped it that sometimes.

Thx for your time.

I wouldn't count on it happening where you're at now. Tiesto just isn't going to be sending you an email breaking down your track anytime in the next... well, ever.

focus more on getting your tracks to local DJ's, and see what they have to say. crowd reaction will give ya a good idea of what the people on the dancefloor think, plus an idea what it does on a big system that might reveal some flaws you might have.
