I had to leave just after their set..I got so tied..I can't do it like before..I'm getting old :( lol
Zone is not the same, but I had waaaay too much fun!!!

lol - I don't know if this has been mentioned before....
On the weekend the boy and I were in movie-mode and he popped in "The Horsemen" with Dennis Quaid. (I had never even heard of it)
Right away I noticed a few T.O. location shots - one of the Bay store at Yonge and Queen stood out right away...
Then - low and behold there was a scene in this hallway that looked very familiar lol.
They shot some scenes inside Zone and the Waverly - also a few shots at the back of zone from the smoking area. I knew a few movies had been shot in the Silver Dollar and the Waverly - just never knew the titles.

I've only heard Junkies play out live once on Halloween in Gallery and I was throughly impressed. It was such a good blend of tunes, didn't sound monotonous at all. I like their one song Jacuzzi Boys, Bastian Schuster- Rugged (Junkies Remix). Very different from all their other production work and I've used it a few times on my show.
Yeah I need to catch them at CZ, just wish they played a bit later though and not so early in the night. |

Jenny - I'm pretty sure I was there the day they were filling. It was a Thursday night and the Roaches were spinning and everyone had to sign release forms as they came in. It was random haha. I always wondered what movie it ended up in. |

lol - ya my roomie was there once too when they were shooting a movie - bizarre that they would choose a night that zone was open lol.
I know there are a few more out there too... |

Someone was telling me about another one that has a lot of shots in the Silver Dollar and there was a straight to video movie that was shot downstairs at zone - apparently cz was a strip club in that one... (lol - thinking about the stripper pole in the back :p)
Based on the scenes from "The Horsemen", the Waverly definitely looks as I imagined it to look... lol |
