If he's telling the truth about how the incident started, I think the black guy is entirely to blame. It seems epic beard man mentioned his "brother" due to the family funeral, and the black guy drunkenly interpreted that as a racist remark.
At the end of the day, they're both shouting abuse at each other but the black guy instigated the violence. This notion that the old white guy lured him into a trap because he knew he could beat him is utterly ludicrous. If someone's giving you abuse and threatening to kick your ass, you don't have to back down like a .
