Its pretty obvious that the Beard Man has mental issues. Most anyone would have recognized that and ignored his nonsensical ramblings like we do with ******** or at least take them with a grain of salt, well all except a drunk black dude with an inferiority complex to defend. I laugh at the end of the interview after he admits he was wrong he adds "but that's racist".

I thought the same thing when i watched it the first time but after repeated viewings I put it all together.
His story is that he was taking the bus to go get the weed with Bob, and while on there they started talking about his mother's funeral (who recently passed away). He mentions the suit and shoes (in relation to the funeral) and then Tyrone interrupts, thinking Tom made a racist remark.
The old man rants too much in his interviews but if you follow him closely, it makes sense.
