This is my interpretation of events:
Something happened before the camera started rolling, it sounds like the old guy and the black guy were talking about something and for some reason the black guy thought the white guy said that black people should spitshine shoes? White guy said, "you offered!" black guy said "why does it have to be a black man?" white guy said "it doesn't have to be a black man, it could be a chinaman!"
They started to argue and the white guy got up to move, black guy still got in his face but eventually went back to his seat. White guy said "I take tough guys like you and slap the outta them", then the black guy's friend egged him on "beat his white ass pinky! beat his ass!" Black guy got up in white guy's face and tried to hit him, white guy used crazy old man dodge skills to evade hit and retaliated with a solid right hook to face, then began to pound on black guy. Yelled that it was self defense because the other guy started it and got off the bus while leaving his bag full of severed body parts behind.

At no point in the video did the older man exhibit any obvious or subtle signs of racism. So yeah, I guess it would make total sense to call him a racist who's "looking for some black arse to ".
