I seriously doubt that.

I'm glad you enjoyed some of the music I play, but this is tune of the year? really? lol

It's only March but I can already think of plenty of nice vocal tunes that kick the out of that remix...like this one:

That is just my opinion of course. That Nothing remix is very polished, and very straight forward, and it is driving and club friendly, but none of its ideas are particularly interesting to me. :conf:

woow.
I gotta hear this out, no way my monitors have the ends to support.
haunting trippy vocal.
that track kicks the out of kassy voorn, there is more creativity in that kick then engineering a logic bass-line.

read the comment on this one;

its all about interpretation ;)

That Holden remix was great, and it fit in that HOUR maybe, but the rest of the night was not as bold. In fact, that could be the track of the year.. like six years ago, the rest of the night was not as memorable.

A challenger appears:

Maybe Cortney Tidwell is just awesome :p

oh , ewan's objects in space mix purely owns.

oh, what I wanted to hear sasha play...

I still think this one wins. Sasha played it, i'd assume James Holden would play it and, "GASP" i think someone like Guetta would play it. talk about diversity.

Please forgive the quality....this video was taken on a phone...and the person who got the video didn't even realize he got it until the Monday after Sasha played lol but he heard me talk about that moment the remainder of the weekend hahaha

"Sasha in an epic moment, playing at Avalon in LA, at the height of his created frenzy looks at his LED board and simply places his hand on yellow dot. For those of us that were there it was a moment in time - an acknowledgment of this created rhythmic chaos - a love for music and his fans."

p.s. can somebody ID that track maybe please?!?! :toothless

It kinda makes the Avalon experience not the same as it used to be. Its a ty situation but what can the Avy do? Discriminate? Ya right that's not going to happen. That BS has left me with a crappy feel of the Avalon and gives me something to think about on my drive back home to SD...

the avalon experience has never been top notch. maybe it's worse now than it was before, but that club is and has always been run like and the issue of washers you're complaining about today is a result of that ongoing mismanagement. inside the club, it's the wild west. washers looking like and being rude is just a symptom of no one caring about anything in there. it's a norm that develops when no one puts any effort into weeding out bad behaviors in the crowd. with avalon, vanguard and circus as your mainstays, you're all just very accustomed to poorly managed venues, but try not to overlook the elephant in the room.

i've seen bouncers watch obvious people do bumps in the crowd and look on. i've been there when a huge, shirtless black dude obviously coked out of his gourd was punking every person on the balcony who tried to walk by him like he owned the place--he was there all night. i mean they even allow e-puddles to occur in the middle of the dance floor when it is painfully apparent that everyone standing around it is disgusted. when it's that bad, you can't blame the druggies, you blame the club management.

i understand the washers have money and they spend it, but that is such a shortsighted and fallacious rationalization. there are over 15 million people in the la market. acting like the crackheads are the only ones who can pay the bills is ridiculous. more self-respecting people would pay the same money if your club didn't have a reputation for such a terrible experience. the club could be turned around, but it would involve a lot of effort to achieve the same bottom line and when all you care about is the bottom line (and nothing else), then the will persist.

the reason why washers don't happen in sf is not because there aren't asians on drugs in the clubs. it's because the bouncers make sure that doesn't become a norm that impinges on the experience. if you bump into me and are completely unresponsive to that fact, all i have to do is point you out to a bouncer and you're kicked out. i've done it before. if you try sitting on the floor you will be told to get up or get out. if you look like you're trashed you can even get kicked out. on top of that we don't have bathroom attendants hounding you for cash as if you're incapable of finding paper towels on your own. that is more annoying than anything to me. we also don't have lines that don't move at all for 15, 30, 60 or more minutes at the beginning of the night when clearly the club is not filled inside. greasing bouncers is not a norm just to get into a club in a reasonable manner. things like that make avalon a terrible club in spite of it's impressive equipment.

i'm only taking the time to say all this because i'm tired of people complaining about washers every week like they are confused as to what the problem is. it's the stupid ing club. if you don't want to see washers, go to the standard or some other (smaller) venue with a vibe. there will always be washers at avalon. stop acting all disappointed when you run into them every week. nothing is going to change as long as you keep quietly coming and going, consenting to the acceptability of washers with your wallet.

Denis A - Ocean (Monaque)

loved the yellow spot!

As far as Washers go.. maybe my crew and I just happen to get the best spots every time we go to Avalon - but the washers are just characters we laugh off and go about our night.. they're bumping into you and not giving a ? move. so what? there's plenty of room. Hang with friends and enjoy the music - doing that we've never had a bad avalon trip:)
