so i spilled water on my laptop this morning...

and i was like fuuuuuuuu
tried to boot it up and it was dead, ing thing had dribbles coming out of it!! i thought to myself, yeh the whole things completely frazzled, ive ed it. so i pulled it apart at like 5am in the morning hoping to salvage the hard drive contents at a later date, so i put the battery and drives on a towel and left it out to try while i was at work.
i get home today and pieced it back together, press the power button and the thing boots up! ITS ALIIIIVE!!
YEA. (i need that picture lol)
so im posting from the laptop now, lifes good.

My friend fixed a PS2 memory card that was wet by putting it the oven for a few minutes. True story.
Same didn't work for an iPhone though :( |

| My friend dropped her phone in the toilet several times and put it in a bag of rice to absorb the water. Worked every time. |

Don't expect it to work forever, the PCBs are likely to oxidize prematurely, likely outcome is that at the least the keyboard will need replacing in the not too distant future.
I learnt this when I dropped my mobile down the ter when pissed. Chucked it in the airing cupboard and hey presto it worked in the morning.
But it did't work for long. |

| water is nothing, i hit over an entire liter of coke on my macbook once, i didn't even notice because i was so high. i come back 5 minutes later and is swimming in cola, literally 80% of the bottle had found a home in my keyboard. then i got it replaced without apple care, which was so awesome, nahhht |

This. unless you have some silica just laying around, a bad of rice is the best solution. Even if it works now, put it in a bad for a day or two, theres probably some moisture still in there, andwhy take chance with a laptop. |
