It's a staggering amount, for the two of us I'd probably spend about that in 3 weeks on food + other essentials and none of it what you'd call junk. Literally she'd have to almost be eating all the time while awake... :nervous:

My gf and I go shopping weekly, and normally spend about $180-$220 between the supermarket and the butcher. So yeah, close to $1000 a month.
Stuff is more expensive over here, compared to the US though. You guys really need to stop being surprised about that :p
Edit: Lol Lira. About $10 a week of that is actually for the birds. Mince beef for our tame Kookaburras and Butcher Birds :p
