Gay. That game plays like a steel rod up your ass.
I can't play an FPS anymore unless I can move my head independently of my body. Also no prone for the lose. Add in the AWP-Whore style snipe fest and repetitive game play and you have a really boring game.
Besides, VBS2 is more of a modern mechanized warfare type simulator, with a strong focus on squad and platoon sized infantry tactics.

Canandas military is actually pretty bad ass. They get paid incredibly well, you only have to do a combat tour if you want to, you get on average two years of training before any combat tour, their equipment is top notch for the most part, they are dead serious about communications, and they get surf and turf on Fridays at their operating bases and Pizza other nights.
No BS.
Where did you get the tour option thing from for regular forces?
I'm aware of reserve deployment option but even the reserves can still be legislated into active combat operations if required.

And for the other stuff, yeah guns can kill.

While the cry engine offers the visual candy it still is only an immediate surroundings game engine.
The cool thing about the Real Virtuality Engine (which is what all the VBS/ArmA games use) is that you can have a 180km x 180km map and be shelling something 40Km away with HIMARS and you know that it is carrying out that simulation in that spot. If you go over there you will see dead bodies and damaged buildings and such, even if its 2 hours later.
Theoretically, the maximum size of a map in CryEngine 2 can reach 68,719,476,736 square kilometers. The entire surface of the earth is only about 150,000,000 square kilometers.

it's funny how every country has a Ministry of Defence, while at least a few countries should've had the Ministry of Sudden Offense and Occupation
No country is that awesome, unfortunately. I reckon it'd be epic if the British government adopted the Ministry of Sound as a governmental body but I don't think that's going to happen any time in the near future :(

But if you put an AI entity down 2000km away it will idle, probably wont even exist in memory beyond just a reference to spawn it when you come within a certain range. RV Engine (the arma engine) simulates and runs those simulations including every bullet fired even if there is no player around.
