Yes.
When it stops being enjoyable, I start to think, "Why am I even doing this? Why do I have this need to accumulate so much information, to be entertained every moment by someone else's creations?" Of course it is enjoyable most of the time, but it also seems like a bit of a compulsion, like I keep doing it even after it has stopped being much fun. |

I can never get tired of music.
There are sometimes I get tired of a certain kind/genre, but overall I never tire of music.
I suck at reading books though. I spend most of my time foruming, and recently playing through Metroid Prime Trilogy on the Wii. |

any sound or text i consume/create will be typically relative in some content. like, in listening, i look for similar subject that i do in reading. i follow a few certain places in my head and constantly search for it in most of the stuff i take in. i probably listen to music more often than i read, but im picky with books and usually take a long time to read them. my desires and ideas and are totally partial to it all so its either one or the other or both always. actually besides essential survival, pissing my life & time away; listening to trax is what i ing do.
sometimes i get restless sitting inside, so i'll go for a walk if i get restless sitting inside. ill probably bring trax tho.
i dunno, if i dont listen to music its usually because id like to spend time thinking about it somehow.
ITS MORE OF AN EXISTENTIAL THING, MAAAANNN. |

im a decent drawer. but can only copy what i can see. and im far too ing lazy to be bothered these days. mum keeps trying to get me to do one for xmas or her birthday, and i keep saying no. she hasn't been that disappointed since she ed stu. |
most artists can only copy what they see. the true art is when you have a form infron of you and you can manipulate it into something else. WHat i do quite a bit or used to do, is If i had an idea id find a ton of different things i can use and took something from eachone and ed with it until my idea came to life. If that meant I had to take picture, Id do it.
anyways I've only met 1 or two people in my life who can get into gret detail with their drawings without something to reference. I can do characters, and graffiti without reference but if you want me to draw a detailed picture without reference...... |

Music, yes.
Books, no. I can never get enough of books. It's probably because back when I was a kid in India, we used to have power cuts all the time. Summer was spent going through the days with 8 hours of no power. Every day. You could only play soccer in the sweltering heat for so long before one of us fell over from dehydration. As a result all the kids took refuge in killing time reading books. We actually used to have 'book offs' to see who'd be the first to finish reading Pickwick Papers or something... :p

| As far as music, I can (an usually do) listen to tons every day. It doesn't get tiring. HOWEVER, when I do take a break for a day or more and come back, I can usually say "that was nice" |

A post in Lira's thread made me wonder...don't people who read a lot of books AND listen to a lot of music ever get sick of it? I mean, doesn't it get draining after a while where you think ", enough!" and just want a break?
JBJ made a similar thread a few months ago about music I do believe.
I'm definitely the kind of person who needs solitude from such things. I feel like too much just clutters my brain after a while, and as though I'm less tuned in to the things I should be tuned into, if that makes sense. |
isint reading and listening to music already solitude ??
I don't read that much even if I would like to (dragged to tv or computer more then the rest when I'm at home), but something's for sure I'll never get bored of music, cause there's so much to discover, and it always changes..
Of course if you constantly listen to the same tracks or type of music you might get sick of it, but then maybe you jsut need to discover something new.. |

| No, it's not about boredom or needing something new - I listen to a variety of good music that I enjoy. It's about wanting peace and quiet in my mind. |

Ever tried sitting in the couch and just relax, listen to silence, maybe with a hot towel on the face?
works for me

| I know how to relax. I don't know where you got the idea that I was asking for advice in this thread. |

Maybe because assuming that other people get sick of doing something might very well mean that you are or did get sick of it yourself at one point..
Geesh chill out lady! :wtf: |
