Platipus Records Closing?

Nothing from Platipus is for sale on Beatport anymore, all of their stuff on their website says out of stock, their digital download store is not available, and on emailing them I get an automated response saying this:

As of 9th March 2010, Platipus has ceased trading.

Does anyone know if they've closed or what's going on? Can't find any news on Twitter, Facebook, Myspace, or anywhere on the internet.

Maybe their return resulted in their downfall. Too bad, had just hoped that they had gotten back on track.

Kris is probably right. It seems the comeback of their biggest artists just didn't draw enough attention to keep them going in the competition against a million other labels. Sad news if they really have gone down. :(

Juno still has some Platipus releases available but Trackitdown says suspended 3/11/2010 for Platipus releases so I'm guessing it's the same with all the other download shops too, including Juno even if they don't have any notes about it.

It seemed (to me at least) quite risky to release two CD's within a relatively short period of time. Maybe that was the thing that did it.

Well anyway, I'm glad I got my signed Pylon Pigs CD before it all went down the drain.

Edit: looks like you can still add Platipus items to the cart on Juno. Maybe this is the time to buy the releases one is missing.

Union Jack are guest guest mixer on the Global Trance Grooves show of next month.
I don't know how much money do they need to avoid closing down, but this is one of the few labels that as a true trance fan I would invest money just to save it. Maybe we can find enough people willing to do the same. Assuming that money is the real problem.

The end of Lews as we know it.

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo :(:(:(

I was still planning on buying a whole bunch of full tracks off their webshop that I can't seem to get anywhere else (digitally).

This is a sad sad day indeed... why don't they keep stuff up in digital stores... seems like that could not hurt!

How did they manage to run out of business? Were the CD Releases to expensive? Can't really believe that.

In the current music market, I would find it hard to believe that CD releases were profitable for a label such as Platipus.
