Hal didn't know you played Divine Divinity.
I can't afford this one for a while, so I re-installed the original for when I get some spare time.
Definitely one of my favourite games of all time :) |

| This game is awesome. It's definitely got its flaws, but I'm pretty sure it does the run-of-the-mill fantasy canon thing better than Dragon Age did. |

im glad you agree mr on+on! i definitely concur re dragon age, even if it did have better RP options with regards to affecting the story. i just found divinity was way more fun to play.
oh, and the loot system is 100x better. sooo many toys to find and play with. |

| Yeah, I love the loot system. If we're comparing though, DA had basically the absolute worst loot system ever conceived. Set items in set places means absolutely 0 replay value for me anyways. |

yeah :(
i did like the more mundane approach, but only to a point. i kept figuring that "just around the corner" there'd be a new beaut piece of equipment that never came. it made rogues rather pointless, because you just knew that the chest in question only had a few cups of in it. i think they really missed the ball there.
but divinity, there's uncommon and magical and legendary and unique and epic etc, and so many different effects & bonuses to contrast and compare. that, and the fact i could equip my mage with a sword AND axe if i wanted. i was raistlin AND drizzt all in one and loving every nerd minute of it :tongue2 |

| And u can customize the hell out of almost any piece of gear with enchantments and charms. The game gets a lot better closer to around 15 hrs in, and u start to really feel like a bad ass :p |

I have been plowing through this game and it just seems like it doesn't end. It's a great thing, truly - I am having way more fun with this than I ever did with Dragon Age and am already looking forward to my second playthrough.
But really, that statue puzzle - the one with the 5 status who told nothing but lies. RRRURRUruururRURUFHJRUHRRFGHHHHHH.
I would have totally ignored it had you not spoken up, pkc - thanks for that, having a lot of fun and at least now your mum gets a break from me. |

:stongue:
Im sure mum’s enjoying the respite!
I would’ve thought a smart man like yourself wouldn’t have been bothered by that puzzle. If you have a bad memory from too many drugs, a pen and paper is all that’s required! |

I'd just forgotten to mindread Keara, so I had no idea the statues were lying to me. ing s! Spent all this time running around on their advice before I realized there were an awfully suspicious amount of contradictions amongst those s. Oh right, and drugs, heeeeeeeee.
Have to admit though - it was so ing refreshing having to write something down while playing a computer game. I'd almost forgotten how magical that was. |

There’s actually a note near one of the statues that tells you they all lie. I didn’t do too much mind reading, I was too greedy with the XP. Though getting a skill point for reading your tower minions was definitely worth it.

Ha, so ing true! |

| There's actually a ton of NPCs throughout the game that reward skill points and even stat boosts for reading their minds - I typically attempt to mindread everyone and when you're prompted with the exp. debt window, the really high-cost mindreads are usually the ones that have worthwhile rewards... the low cost ones are almost without fail completely useless. Now that I've learned that, I'm eager to play the whole thing over again. |
