Those of you who have spare time. What can you come up with? I tried to make the computer "look" like a gaming computer with the clear LED computer case, keyboard, and mouse. I was shooting for less than $600 :-/ Any ideas on where I can lower the cost without losing its "gamer" appeal?

What would recommend? Remember my goal is to be below $600. |

| $600? A decent GPU will be close to half that. |

| and you'll also want more than 350W for power too. minimum these days is about 500. |

Here you go krypt..
PC/mouse/keyboard - $399: http://configure.us.dell.com/dellst...=en&s=dhs&cs=19
Video card (one of these) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...N82E16814133306 - $86AR
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...N82E16814500146 - $85AR
Most gaming cards require a 6 pin connector which Dell power supplies usually lack. These are excellent cards that don't require it. They run on PCI power alone and are very powerful (slightly better than a 9800GT).
Get this bad boy 24 inch monitor.
http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/...f0fp33024c0s441
Apply code K8WM1K39KW8ND1 to make it $165 shipped.
So your total with this setup is:
computer: $399
video card: $86
24 inch monitor: $165
= $650
This system has 4GB DDR3 (which Pwns the crap out of DDR2 667), a CPU roughly equal in power to your original one, a WAYYYY more powerful video card, and a mindblowing monitor. The only thing lacking is a fancy case..but you can always buy an extra 120mm LED fan on Newegg for $5-ish and screw it on the back as an exhaust to give you a nice "glow" effect.
:wtf:
I know it's $50 over your budget but I highly recommend you splurge on the monitor. Once you game on a big screen, you will never go back. |

| I'm thinking more about selling it rather than building it for myself. The market is too saturated though. But I may have options selling locally. For now I'm sticking to selling iPads. |
