I started at 265 pounds a little over a year ago, currently at 185-ish and still losing some. Fatties keep complaining exercise is hard - but this 's pretty fun once you get used to it.

that's awesome :) congrats.

I hit 279 before I realised just how much I'd put on. I'm down to 216 now and have periods where i lose loads for a while then not a lot for a month or two then it seems to go again. My diet is still not perfect though but it's getting better. I'm aiming to get down to about 170 I think & see how it goes then.

Good for you! You should try P90X!
Ian
I have 0 upper body strength. My strength has alwyas been my legs, cycling, running, playing sports like football & field hockey and such has left it that way. It's something I'd like to gain but don't really know where to begin & would rather burn fat first too, and maybe add definition once I get to a size I'm happy with.

Yeah that's pretty much my attitude also. I run, walk everywhere, hike, bike, climb, take the stairs, do squats... Then I try to do one push-up and I'm like 'ah it, this is way too hard'.

Muscle helps burn fat!

P90X would be perfect, I couldn't do a single pull up when I started. I did 12 yesterday and that was after doing the pullups from the video. I could only do 10 pullups out of bootcamp!

Tony preaches about modifying movements just so you keep moving till you get to MAX reps. I started off doing assisted pullups you just need to get in that motion and your strength will build.

I was only curling 10lbs for my biceps. 10 flippin lbs that's nothing. Now I'm doing 20-25lb weights moving up to 30's here soon. You CAN do it and you WILL get stronger, you just have to do it. More than half of the workouts uses your legs. If your strength is in your legs you will do phenomenal in the program. Just try it, what do you have to lose besides FAT!

It's truly a great program and throughout the three months you can see yourself getting stronger, doing more reps and it pumps you up and makes you want to push yourself further.

I was the same way but I just went to my knees to make it easier to get more reps. Then over time doing regular pushups I get whipped then go back down to my knees to get the extra reps.

May 20-June 2nd. Will be back in the US on the 3rd. Dunno yet. Not a whole lot planned, as I don't want to have a tight schedule and then hate myself for that.
