why do people get such a boner for Lawler??

those videos have the same boring monotonous beat..
people are just bobbing their heads and not really dancing...

i have seen lawler countless times at guv, Montreal (2 X on NYE), London, and in Ibiza

he has only impressed me once (ibiza, but this was at space and James Ziebala was before him)

everything other time i wanted to shoot my self...

so someone tell me what makes lawler so good?

1 luv

For me Lawler is definitely not on the top of my list. His music isn't bad, but at times I also think his set is somewhat monotonous. When I recorded him at Circa I wasn't diggin his set throughout the night, just at certain times. When I recorded him the second time at Guv I was recording because ppl love him, but again I wasn't feeling it. It felt like it was a continuation of the first video... same scene, same music. This is why I didn't record his roof top set as much as the first time. I suspect the next time he comes it will be the same again. As a matter of fact I'll bet that if I merged the videos you practically wouldn't notice that they were recorded on separate occasions, LOL.

Perfect!

He has been very hit & miss, more miss than anything over the past few years. I've dl'd many sets of his that I outright couldn't stand, but his last Essential mix was really good overall. I'm fully aware that I want to like him more than he has given me reason to, but I'll give him another chance at Stereo.

I remember cause that was my last day of college and headed out right after. Such a long day but tons of fun.

and 2 years ago Tiesto ended off his set at Ricoh coliseum then headed to Skybar to party... only to end off leaving cause everyone made fun of him... and he also denied having pictures taken. Chinamon can vouch on that.

that was armin!

I think what makes Lawler so special to some of us is that those that love him have been witness to some of the most mind altering sets (MUSICALLY) we have ever heard. System Sound Bar amongst others...

so yeah, lawler, especially the current lawler CAN be monotonous and somewhat repetitive, but its that possibility for magic that makes him appealing. Some didn't like him New Years but I thought he was ing brilliant...just an example. I haven't liked his last few gigs as much including last years Canada day but he was just SICK on New Years...and at Circa to boot.

Also with Skybar, for me...its more about the atmosphere and being with my peers from this scene. Spending good quality time with friends AND acquaintances while chillin or dancing..with the sun coming up. Can't beat that IMO.
