so yeah, lawler, especially the current lawler CAN be monotonous and somewhat repetitive,

This sounds more like Lawler 2008 and early 2009... 'current lawler' definitely has his magic back

Did you see him at TIL last November    :eyespop: :eyespop: :eyespop: :eyespop:
Dior Homme
for those people who thought he has sounded 'monotonous' the last few years up until fall of last year, was probably due to the fact that he was playing 'minimal' lol

The thing is with Lawler.. you know exactly what to expect. Yes he does seem to stick to a similar sound.. But even after seeing him 5 or 6 times he still keeps me moving. Actually.. he seems to drop a wider array of sounds during his sunrise sets. I can see why some people don;t appreciate his sound as much.. but I've still got plenty of respect for Steve Lawler.

I think Sasha would be a great choice for this year's Canada Day at Guv.. It would make up for his recent absenteeism too.

been to the canada day/lawler party 2 years in a row
my conclusion:

don't go upstairs for the sunrise set

first time I went, we were almost the first ones to go upstairs but still had to wait to get let up.... real drag
couldn't move anywhere because it was so rammed
he played the EXACT SAME SET as he did downstairs at guv
the people are incredibly ugly once they are in light

only pro was the fireworks....

the next year I stayed inside and didn't venture up to the rooftop
and that was one of my fav nights at guv!

Yeah but the very first year he did this was with Sasha! So that sorta means he would have to bring it to an End I guess! haha

after last year, i can't do the skybar thing again. not worth the aggravation as far as i'm concerned. it used to be the only event i could tolerate at guv, but not any more. i'm just over it. meh.
