I've got nothing against being kicked out of the animal kingdom, but are there theorists in evolutionary biology that agree with this division? Isn't it too ahtropocentric to create a category that includes no one but us? What advantage in splitting hairs here?

You should have something against it Lira,

The foundations of the animal kingdom are based on DNA similarities, phenotypes, genotypes at the most basic level. To segregate from that kingdom would be saying that our evolution is convergent to those members of kingdom animalia, Which is obviously a complete fallacy.

I'm not licking Kar-... sorry, NRG's . :stongue: He and I happen to have a similar stance on the issue, that's all. If there was another thread and we both took separate stances, I'd be arguing with him. Simple as that.

Sorry I'm not on first name terms with you guys.

Nice to meet you Karmin

My name is Bishop.

Iduro what may I call you if I may be so indulged and kindest?

We don't know what the kingdom animalia refers to in this other division - you've got the classical division in your mind, he may be talking about something less broad. Definitions are fluid and not entirely synonymous in different theories, hence why I asked for some reading material.

last time i checked there was only one kingdom animalia. These things don't get thought up over night lira. References to back up claims is necessary.

I wish man. Many a fine day spent in Headingly beer gardens.

Where bouts you based?

Beeston, the opposite end of the city. It's a hole, but the rent is mythically low and I can jump on a cheap bus up to other end of town.

Nice. I still visit every so often. Talk my girlfriend to Oulton Hall for her birthday last year. I miss the place a lot.

How much potential does Halo have to be a superb club? Shame it bloody ruins it.
