| Are people still using Winamp? Something else? I'm ashamed to say I've been using iTunes all this time. |

iTunes is far from perfect, but at least it's much nicer than WinAmp. iTunes has a different philosophy behind it than most players I'd say. Once you get everything sorted there nicely it works really well. When using WinAmp I could never find my tunes as WinAmp was so limited back then, more suited to just playing random tunes you've acquired from random places. iTunes on the other hand is well suited to host your entire music library in a well organized and easy to use way. |

| foobar2000, I think it's definitely better than any music player I've ever used (iTunes, winamp, windows media player). |

| im using iTunes and im very happy with it because of AirPort Express so i can listen wireless from my laptop, and many other great functions. i do miss winamps instant reaction and speed though. |

foobar with asio plugin.
even though foobar2000 has a nice interface it can't beat winamp's own classic skin. i don't know why, it is something special about it. |

WinAmp has library capability at this point, including a search function. I find it quite easy to surf through my entire music archive. It may not be as visually flexible as iTunes, and it's playlist functionality is a tad lacking, but it's much more lightweight and that's what I love about it. |

| I used WinAmp for years and was happy with it. Then one day it just started freezing on startup for no apparent reason and I decided rather than reinstalling/upgrading it would be a good chance to try something new. I now use iTunes and in some ways it's better (better support for visual art and podcasts) and in others it's worse (library search functionality - doesn't search on things like file path, comments section, etc, which was a big problem since that's how I'd see a list of the tracks from a specific month...now I have to bother with creating specific playlists to do that...) |
