Why does everyone pick on Adaleide?

I think it's because it is too close to Melbourne and Sidney. Unlike Perth and Darwin, which are very far away from the largest cities in Australia, it's easier to go there and see the place is just a small town (or, quoting John Safran, "a hole" :p).

It's like picking on the fat kid from elementary school or something :D

Football clubs are like friends - you can pick what you want, but nations are like family. You're stuck with the hand you're dealt.

I never picked you as a simple, parochial miscreant maligned by ruling class ideology ;)

And that's one more reason why you shouldn't be bound by it.

I had to be born in a country, this is inevitable in the contemporary world: but the choice to relate to your country (or to your family, for that matter), specially in meaningless events is up to the individual.

If you think that's necessary, that's because it was your choice to think so, and you shouldn't expect others to do the same.

One word for you - "bandwagon"
It's fine to like certain teams and wish them well but not at the expense of your own country. Maybe the rest of us just have more national pride than you do, though I know many MANY Brazilians and they have extremely strong national pride.
