Yes tiesto has changed, but every artist does, even the beatless changed. It's just artist have to progress. I actually like some of the new sounds in tiesto's tracks. It just apart of progression, and he will lose some old fans and gain new fans. I have to give him credit for changing his style, and still be able to draw the crowd he draws.
If you look at PVD who also changed his style, and has lost fans, and isn't gaining that many new fans.
I do agree that this last event didn't have much variety, and the best tiesto sets, have great programming, and good variety, that really keeps you interested through out the night. This event he made some bad track selection. I remember him playing adiago for strings, and then go into feel it in my bones, it completely killed the mood.
That is my biggest disappointment with tiesto in asbury park. He didn't try to have a great set, instead he just tried to play any track with out thinking of how the set progresses. Old tiesto would of used his new style, and still take you on a journey by picking the right tracks after another.

Yeah every artists sound changes but they don't suddenly go and say "Trance is dead" and completely ignore the music that made him who he is. You can't completely ignore the music that made you who you are. By looking at the setlist from last weekend, it looks pretty obvious that he's not interested in trance anymore.
Anyways, it doesn't really matter because Tiesto's so called new fans will eat it all up.

stop living in the past ... tiesto is not going to play like its 2005 anymore ... if you dont like his new stuff stop paying the money to go see him it is as simple as that ... im sure the 60 bucks you paid to see him this past weekend wont make or break him. Dont get me wrong NYE at roseland and EOL at Hammerstein were amazing nights but i still had a blast for 2 days straight in Asbury Park. such haters
