| So why is Obama getting a free ride for doing nothing over the oil spill? If Bush was in power and did nothing hed be accused of racism, being in kahoots with the oil companies, and probably even the cause of the whole mess. So what gives with the biased media??? |

| What exactly would qualify as "doing something"? I think the biggest blunder out of all of this are just his off the cuff statements about the whole issue. |

apparently obama, his government and bp havnt even had dialogue. Hes just letting them do whatever. Obama wont even declare a disaster. You can bet that if this were bush that this would be the top story 24 hours a day with all kinds of innuendos. Im sure Captain Highliner would hijack some awards show and declare that Bush doesnt like fishermen. LOL
Seriously though, Im not saying i support bush as i do think he was a really bad president, but the double standard here is unbelievable. |

Obama is trying to be cozy with BP, a huge international corporation that has a long and deadly history of environmental and safety violations.
Obama is a on this, a predictable outcome, plus considering that the data they're getting is in ranges only, thus debatable, and BP is doing a good job keeping dogs off its back (go figure) - all you need is some good lawyers and PR people - and they have both. But all that that hasnt bothered me as much as New York mayor's recent bombshell. The douchebag went on to DEFEND British Petroleum, what a scumbag.
So now they're saying that the spill is actually worse than previously thought, and up-to-date the spill could be as much as 380 million litres. Mind boggling. |

| I read somewhere that Obama does not want to "officially" get involved because then he would be held accountable for anything that happens from that point on. Makes sense because BP's efforts would diminish and all efforts would be placed on the government. The responsibility of getting the oil to stop would be on Obama and if he didn't, he would be blamed |

yeah so better to do nothing rather than actually do something about it when you are the guy whos supposed to be in charge of the country.
I guess if it worked for chretien it can work for obama.... typical liberal
speaking of which, has mcguinty declared leamington a disaster area yet? Last i checked he didnt for the same reasoning. Just like how he refused to help vaughan last year after their tornado.
And people keep voting for these guys..... |

“We have responded with unprecedented resources, and when you look at what most of the critics say…and you ask them, specifically, what is it that the administration could or should have done differently that would have an impact on whether or not oil was hitting shore, you're met with silence,” Obama said in an interview aired Tuesday on NBC’s “Today Show.”
As per usual, I'm assuming you have no specific solution in mind? |
