Friday July 2
Pacha NYC presents...
Independence Day Weekend 2010

featuring
PAUL OAKENFOLD

closing set by
BRAD MILLER

One of dance music’s founding fathers, Paul Oakenfold is also one of its truest believers. Since he first experienced repetitive beats during the UK’s Summer of Love in 1988, the DJ/producer/composer/film soundtrack guru has stayed true to the purest of trance and progressive, spinning vocals, dramatic drops, and showers of synth. There’s no better way to kick off your holiday weekend!

I usually love the big name DJs...
Tiesto
PVD
Guetta
AvB
Above and Beyond
Carl Cox
etc. etc.

and I have been into EDM for the last 2 years...
and I have always been under the impression OAKENFOLD
was a "Big Name?"

But for some reason, there is no discussion about the fact that he will be at PACHA NYC on 7/2/10???

Why is that? will it not be a good crowd?

+1 on that for ing sure. I guess I was lucky that when I started going out it was basically with active NYTAs (and cl005k) so I got to broaden my horizons, as sam so eloquently put it, rather early on.

As for Oakey here's what I'll say... Go see his opener, Kenneth Thomas, cause that boy can spin!!! Oakey was iite I guess. I think I was outside smoking cigs more than I was inside. Pete's gonna kill me when he reads this.

but yeah, Perfecto A&R man Kenneth Thomas is really really sick so I recommend going early.

I'll actually be closing that night so stay late too if you can! :P Haven't seen Oakie in quite some time but I can say that Tranceport is still one of my favorite mix cds of all time. Def stoked to see Kenneth too he always rocks it hard!

did free with jokie at wmc 07. he mixed classics without his headphones while drunk and on some kind of drugs. you can imagine what happened.

KT on the other hand is a genius at what he does, so you should check him out.

LOL there it is everyone. Go early (10-12) then leave and get some food or go to the strip club... or both if you're adventurous and the RETURN for the closing. ROFL

good stuff brad!
