despite all the bad things said about this cruise it was victors first one and they never have cruises like this in new york. theres one cruise a year and it doesnt match this one. he had a lot of fun despite the delayed music performance and the junkies very short opening set (sucks for them but you couldnt do anything about it) but for the 20mins val played it was a nice warm up.. and sorry to see victors set cut short.
i dont regret going on this cruise cause i had a lot of fun with friends, sun and a long day of partying/after partying

| I have a swolen black eye from walking into a metal thing on the boat - but other than that it was a good day in the sun! I had fun! |

This was my first cruise of the year ... and after all the emails / fb / msg board messages I read about trying to leave on time I actually thought for once the boat would leave on time, or at least somewhat close to the advertised departure time. How incredibly foolish of me to think such a thing would ever happen ... :haha: :o
So yeah the boat left about an hour later ... which to be honest I would not have even minded that much if there was at least some music playing in the background. And yes I know there was music playing downstairs. But I don't go on boat parties to hear music inside when its sunny and warm out. It totally defeats the purpose of even going on the cruise. Then to make matters worse I was stuck on a boat with no music with no alcohol being sold until whenever the hell it was that they decided to start serving alcohol.
:whip:
So is this now a common practice to not have any music playing until the boat is way out into the lake? The TO fun police are REALLY making it very hard for me to even think of wanting to go on another cruise. |
These are pretty much my feelings.
I got on the boat at 11:30 because I thought it would be leaving at 12:00, but it didn't leave until 1:00, and the music didn't start playing until 1:30. Waiting for 2 hours for music was not fun. Then the music got shut off at 4:30. Even when the music was on, I wasn't feeling Victor at all. He played waaaay too hard and dark for a nice summer day.
I still had a great time getting drunk with my friends, but I could have done that anywhere else and not spend $55 to get on.
The most fun I had was hearing Jon and Joel play downstairs.
Tryst was also rocking too. I had a way better time at Tryst than I did the boat.
This was my first and very likely to be my last boat cruise this summer. It's just not worth it. |

| - the bull with the upper deck sound was immensely frustrating for the organizers as well, I won't comment on it officially but I'm hoping someone from Beats Ahoy will chyme in and explain how the boat decided to make that a new rule minutes after all the gear was setup! lol unbelievable... I even heard one bartender say it was because of the "G20 in town" lol that was last week retard - fukkk |

seems like I picked the right cruise and did not attend beats ahoy 14... I would have to say my fav beats ahoy was Max Graham and Green velvet ..
That time they moved green velvet to the very bottom deck, kinda shiet but at least there was constant music.
The Love boat cruise w/omid16b&demi had music the entire cruise and it seemed to take a route that was farther away from shore and headed to the docks. I believe all the cruises should depart from the docks.. so simple |

The exact reason why you didn't like Calderone's set, is the same reason why I loved it! You don't get to hear music that hard and dark on a boat cruise usually. I thought it was a nice change, and it was exactly what I was hoping to hear from him. I do understand how it may not have been suitable boat cruise music to some, but it was precisely what I was in the mood for :) |
