The boat was a bit of a hassle to say the least. Still had a blast due to having so many great friends there to get silly with.
As per Victor, wasn't really feeling him all that much either. Darky, techy, and twisted are how I like my tunes 95% of the time. Unfortunately, a boat cruise falls into the other 5%. Would have liked for him to have a mixed it up a bit more, but he stuck to one genre the entire time. If he is versatile as a dj, this day definitely wasn't his day to show it. |

Hi Guys,
Beats Ahoy! will be commenting shortly.
Joel, Evan and I would like to talk to Mariposa Crises before we comment on the operations of the event. We are just as confused and annoyed as y'all. On the bright side....The music was sick!!!
The Junkies were killing it.....could only play 4 tracks....total bummer. Two of my faves, Jon Jon and Joel were insanely fun and energetic...They're a great team on and off the decks,

From my experience with Victor as of late he has completely abandoned his old sound and has evolved into, like you say, dark, twisted and techy. And like you, I also enjoy that 95% of the time but not on a boat!!!
I think a lot of people hoped for a little more upbeat, fun, summer drums, seeing as it was on a boat, in the mid of summer and it WAS the king of Tribal.
I chose not to go on this boat because I knew I would be disappointed. |

I could see you guys getting visibly pissed off at the start of the cruise. I know a lot of the problems that plagued this cruise were not necessarily your fault. |

I find this highly difficult to digest. 4 tracks = killing it?
I can agree with the total bummer though, but they were cut short. |

I couldn't make this one unfortunately, but this is the impression I get. |

Had a great time because of good friends and VC. In my opinion Beats Ahoy (although it was out of their control) may have dodged a bullet thanks to VC...he killed it. Hopefully they'll stick to booking the Gambler for future cruises This boat was AWEFUL....1.5hr wait for music and booze, then they shut both down early on the way back...Even little things like having garbage cans around so people could get rid of their cups/empties safely...there was one trash can (apparently)on the top deck of the boat....empties rolling around on a steel floor = not too safe
Anyways...again we had a good time....will def hit up another Beats Ahoy cruise as long as its not on this boat. |

| We've used this boat multiple times in the past with absolutely zero issues whatsoever. Still don't get why they dropped the ball on this one. :/ |

| Just out of curiousity ...why this one? The outside deck is tiny..is it a capacity thing? I just know that I definately prefer the Gambler because its all open....just my opinion tho. |

Edited...but HELLS YEAH!!!!
I had an incredibly good time on the cruise, but it was mostly due to the sunshine and good friends (which seems to be the pattern for me with boat cruises!). I definitely enjoyed the tunes Calderone was playing, especially since this was my first time seeing him. He didn't blow me out of the water or anything, but some solid tunes. The biggest con though was (as previously mentioned many times) the late start and early finish to the top floor of the boat. I definitely felt a bit cheaped out for not having music going to serenade me while I made my way onto the boat and waited in a long-ass line for my first drink. At least while the music was playing, it was a great time!
Tryst afterwards was even better than the boat if you ask me. ADDYADDYADDY!!!! The best set of the day for me! Music was top notch, and Tryst was rammmmmmmmed (especially when we got there earlier on!). Here's to another successful Canada Day under my belt. :) :D <3 |
