Well, I think it's ok to play songs like Traffic. Every artist has some classics and the majority of people that pays to see him expects to hear those songs. If you go to a AC/DC show you'll want to hear Hells Bells and Back in Black, same thing with Bon Jovi and Livin' on a Prayer.

And judging by the reaction of the crowd yesterday, they were VERY happy to hear it. In fact, they reacted like that for the 7 or 8 Tiësto songs that he played. But he prefered to play house music.

I definately agree that artist should play there older succesfull songs. I just wanted to point out that the majority of the people where there just to hear that song. Also to stare at hot girls of course.

Oh you're right about that...I'd say that at least 75% of the people are there because for them, Tiësto is the man who made Adagio, Traffic and Dance 4 Life...

Well, my ears were all ed up because of the ty sound but my eyes were alive and well and there was A LOT of hot girls:)

We drove from Kingston, which would normally take 2.5 hours, but with the traffic backed up it took us 5 hours :eyes: :eyes:

Even the 640 was backed up like carzy and once you got off the 640 to get to Beachclub, which was only 3-4 km's from there it was crazy. That part alone took about 2 hours. We finally ended up parking our car about 1 km away and walking, which was our best decision.

Getting into the club only took us about 10 min getting through security, which at this point was 2pm. We drove all that way only to see Tiesto, so when we got there that's where we went, but it was so packed that you couldn't even get in proximity of the dj booth to see him or even near the speakers to actually hear anything.

At this point, we went over to the other tent and were having a much better time, where there was tons of room to dance and the sound there was really good too. I kept thinking that although we were having a good time, we had really come all that way to see Tiesto, so at about 4:30 we made our way back over and stayed for about 20 min. Luckily the 3 songs we wanted to hear all came right in a row: "Pursuit Of Happiness", "Escape Me" and "Feel It In My Bones" and after that he played "Love Comes Again" and we decided that was enough. As we walked away I heard him drop a remix of "Flight 643", which is normally a track I would love to hear, but couldn't handle it anymore.

We ended up going back to the tent and stayed there till 6:30, then decided to leave before the traffic got bad again. All in all, I would say Beachclub is a good spot, it just seemed to small for the mayhem that Tiesto brought with him. I probably wouldn't go back there for a major event based on the traffic alone.

Did anyone get any pics / videos??????

you do realize that the music playing in the tent wasn't Tiesto.:gsmile:

haha.. of course I know that Malek! I'm not an idiot, I DJ myself. As I mentioned, after being in the tent we decided to give Tiesto one more try and that's when we heard "Pursuit Of Happiness", "Escape Me" etc.

How much were tickets? $70?

Makes me so happy that I went to see Bassnectar at Piknic instead for $10, he absolutely slayed the crowd. He played everything from hip hop to breaks, dubstep to drum n bass.

Also, new location for Piknic? We went to the metal structure and no one was there... now it's next to the Casino on a little island, still an awesome location dancing on the grass, it's also a lot bigger. I've never seen so many people at Piknic before... Anyone else go?

yeah big disappointment for me.

I was in the crowd and I had troubles hearing the tracks?!?!

Getting there was a pain in the ass.

I just want to point out that his set sucked big time.
The crowd wanted to be punished, they wanted to get killed with sick drops..... well they never came.... or they were too predictable ..
and he just kept mixing house... (where was the trance?!)
There was a possibility for the crowd to go literally nuts with great tracks that weren't his but he didn't push it.

so disappointed. The sound systems cuts at the end of his set... amateur hour at beach club yesterday. (stupid promoter gets on stage thinking he's Gene Simmons screaming out Montreal) - Making it even more amateur.

Tiesto I have lost faith and i have untwittered you and I have unsubscribed to your podcasts.

All in all, I sum up my experience at beach club as : Having been able to sleep with the girl of my dreams and realizing that she's lame in bed. sad :(

p.s.
Im so happy i went to see Gareth Emery at circus on the 24th. 17$ and it was the time of my life compared to this bullcrap for 60$
