10+ killed @ LoveParade - Death Toll still rising

Thats certainly the worst EDM catastrophe ever.

While the LoveParade in Duisburg, Germany is still running right now, a huge panic at the entrance killed 10+ people while they tried to enter the Loveparade area.

The organizers cannot stop the event right now because all people would flow in the direction where the exit (the bottleneck) is located. That would drive the next panic with more deaths...

Unbelievable... Right now the DJs are playing "for the life of their listeners", trying to keep them dancing and celebrating - and preventing them from trying to leave the festival.

This sad event will certainly end an era - the LoveParade and maybe other huge events will come to an end ...

I will be sorry to bite on this but, damn, you must live a horrible life if your comment during a tragic event is how "heroic" are the DJs who are spinning there. Well I am pretty sure no one among them feels good now after hearing what happened. You on the other hand have to spill your irony when it was completely unnecessary (to say the least).

RIP to all who passed away.

horrible news.

RIP

Just saw it on Televison. The thing is, there is a rather small tunnel that is entrance AND exit at the same time. They don't know yet how many people exactly got killed or injurend, but numbers are 15 killed and about about a 100 injured.

Good thing I didn't go. (The Lineup is utter crap anyways, which was also the reason I didn't go)

And you, missed the point completely. The only one I'm ridiculing is the OP for making such a melodramatic statement by saying the DJs are now playing music to save people's lives.

And the word you're looking for is 'sarcasm', not 'irony'. ;)

The area was way too small and it seems like in one area there only was a small tunnel as entrance AND exit. So yeah its pretty much the fault of the host.

In Berlin you had a huge park all around the area which was why something like this wasn't possible.

I hope that this is seen as a reason to improve safety measures in the future rather than to cancel the event.
