Review: Chus & Ceballos @ The Guvernment / not Sky Bar (07-24-2010) (pg. 2)

ah yeah a few years ago they were yellow. They are gels. So only one colour set up at a time on those ones. LEDs can change colour but i like the warm glow of incandescent bulbs better for that effect.
PS its a bitch to change all those gels LOL |

Went by to say hi to Chus and Ceballos and left early. Wasn't feeling the idea of the boys playing for two hours, stopping for an hour and then moving up to Skybar to play until close. Those guys are afterhours DJs foremost, so them playing on a patio with sound issues with the sun rising isn't an ideal setting to see them.
Chus and Ceballos work best in dark rooms with the sound cranked. Seeing them in a setting with sound limitations and the light creeping up, not exactly the best setting for them. They would have started the set, stopped, then started another set, barf...
Chus and Ceballos are the best when they set the pace early on in the night. They aren't guys that exceed when they are picking up after someone else, no matter how good the set is.
Had I know they would be in the main room all night, I would have stayed... |

| Music was good, crowd was, as per usual at Guv, pure garbage. It was a good reminder of why I have never really enjoyed a night there... because I can go to footy, and get equally if not better music, with out the significant amounts of pretentious silicone and steroids. |

ohhhh fewf. i didn't end up coming but i would have been very upset if they didn't play skybar.
i bet it had to do with the fact that they were going to the Beach Club right after and couldn't do a sunrise set. |

I find it funny you think the crowd at FW is so much better. Perhaps its bc the hole is much darker so its harder for you to see all the goblins who are in usual attendence.
I was at Guv on Saturday night- I have no implants, I wore a t-shirt & hat.
How about all you haters just go out to dance and to listen to good music. Jealous bitches need to stop looking around and being so damn INSECURE!!!

Agreed. I find the FW crowd incredibly rude. I get bumped around, stepped on and elbowed there far more than I do at Guv even when it's packed. That place just frustrates me. |
