Anyway, I get my solidarity by talking to him on the phone once a week and keeping up with emails when he gets a chance. I'd prefer not to look at fresh photos of our soldiers on a stretcher while he's there. There is no "best" way, coping happens on an individual level. Do you have family over there right now?

No, but I do know a number of people over there.

How ing arrogant.
Whether he wants to look at those pictures or not is none of your affair. I'm sure he knows what is best for him.

That's the liberal elite way, Selma. You see, we simpletons don't really know what's best for ourselves. We need the ruling class' intelligentsia to explain it and make those decisions for us.

Glad to see this thread is going places and it just started!

Interesting photos.

I hope everyone over there (Americans, Afghans, and others) stay safe and Afghanistan can have peace soon.

Okay, continue your bickering.

I like this story.

quote:
Sgt. Christopher Duke and wife Lauren Duke greet Rufus at PetAirways on Thursday, July 29, 2010, in Atlanta, Georgia. Rufus and two other dogs saved Duke's and other soldiers' lives while serving in Afghanistan when on the evening of Feb. 11, 2010, the dogs attacked a suicide bomber trying to enter their barracks, forcing the bomber to detonate his explosives in the entry corridor. Though five of the 50 soldiers present sustained injuries, none died that night thanks to the three dogs. One of the dogs was killed, the other two later recovered from their injuries. Sgt. Duke wrote to a veterans assistance group called "Hope for the Warriors" asking for the dogs to be brought to the United States, and $21,000 was raised in less than 3 months enabling the dogs to leave Afghanistan.

And I want a dog

It's all a bunch of horse.

I don't believe in the Republican Party or the Democratic Party, I just believe in parties.

Im sorry but most people are ing stupid.

Look at China, you know why they will beat us? Because they know that most of them are ing stupid, but when told what to do they will rule the world together.

So yea. I am sorry I don't want the stupid majority to it for the people that actually can complete a thought, or have to deal with the idiots.

I want someone smarter than me to be president. You should too.
Comrade Stalin
Those Afghans need their freedom. America must do this. Once the Taliban give up, that'll be the end of it. Hopefully we can get Kabul to become the Abu Dhabi of the Hindu Kush.

The Americans will always do the right thing... After they've exhausted all the alternatives. WC

1) When did you become part of the 99th percentile?

2) Your frequent dreamy comments of a totalitarian State being what's best for the people, considering every time that's been tried throughout history its failed, is scary.

SuspicionVandit
that sucks :(
