Is it really a problem? So say someone posts a track, and someone says "that's not good, check this out". So the OP checks out the track and hey, its a pretty cool track. Sure, the music they like got bashed but in the process they learned about more music.
If you want to expand your musical tastes without ever encountering the slightest bit of negativity, then you need to stop dreaming and be realistic. |

I don't think anyone will argue this - what we're getting at is (the general consensus) that some people take it way too far. |

| Also the vast majority comes as "that's not good, your taste is terrible" instead of "that's not good, check this out." |

I suppose so, but, I can't really understand the problem osterzone has. I've not been here for long, but for as long as I've been here I've never felt that anyone takes it too far. Maybe I just tolerate it more, but I see no issues with things the way they are. |

Also I used to troll music discussion threads, then I realized how stupid it was and I stopped doing it. | Like I said, you're no better than anyone else. |

not really.
there are several neurological/pscyhological studies on the pleasure principle that show that increased breadth and depth of knowledge of a subject increases pleasure of it.

no problem with this forum, except people who click submit threads way too often. as I've expressed before, the "haters" here makes this place good. but then again that's my opinion.
it's "all" good
5 years+ of reading these boards gives you an insight (for better or for worse)
1 year doesn't
this is great. using trolling as an excuse for being a total idiot for a year. I've got to hand it to you, you're an entertaining specimen.

Compared to hip-hop or video game forums, this place is unicorns and rainbows.
I see nothing wrong with the odd pisstake on a topic that gets recycled every few months, but yes it is more productive to tactfully offer alternatives if you don't happen to agree with the prevailing opinion of a thread. |

We get tired of reading the same inane again and again though. Probably like everyone gets tired of reading our replies to these threads again and again. Just like some people gets tired of reading anyones replies again and again. 7 years of the same drivel makes you more or less know people and thus everything becomes cliche and predictable.

Given this is the billionth thread of its kind, I'd say the "problem" has firmly been acknowledged. Now what are you going to do about it?
EDIT:

It doesn't matter what track/genre you post about, you're going to get 2-3 trolls per thread going "this is so bad :stongue: " or "this DJ is a joke now compared to what he used to be". |
This is also complete nonsense. There are plenty of threads about tracks from many genres that don't get trolled like that. You just never click on them. And this is the thing - it's always the same group of people who listen to the same type of music who make these complaint threads. Plenty of people (including you) have endlessly trolled about genres they don't like, such as minimal or tech house, but nobody makes these pathetic complaints threads about it. Man the up, son. |
