I started something new on the HS80s last night and so far i'm pretty pleased with the way they're translating despite my bad room.
I would appreciate some mix critique, bearing in mind this is just a short snippet and maybe 90 mins work.

Listening through headphones right now
Melody and bass sound great, Id suggest throw in some perussive loops to spicen up the hhats
And bring out the highs in the clap |

I've now changed the OHH and spiced up the clap a bit.
I shall remain refrained and not post 30 different versions of this however! ;) |

I can't download without registering, so I'll assume that you trust the "hi-fi" sample is good enough for us to make our judgements.
Mixing wise, I honestly can't hear anything wrong with it. It's plesant on the ears and easy to follow, so you won't be hearing any complaints on my part ;) |

I think the kick may be a bit on the thick side after listening again a few time, but I still think it's remarkably clear for a very busy mix at an early stage.

Sounds good. Any feedback I could offer would be according to taste. Nothing sounded overly harsh or dull, however.
Perhaps just too many notes. ;) |

This is something I doubt i'll ever change :p
Here's an update with more of a track intro layout, although it's still very rough with little swish at this stage.
I'm feeling the kick is too loud now maybe?

the clap/snare was clashing with the kick and i noticed some strange unwanted noise in the first 30 sec i played it again and yeah some strange clashing going on ;) |
