So glad to see this, right after randomly deciding to go in a few weeks.
Now I can get eaten alive before I get killed. Awesome. |

I was born in the Capital (Springfield) but not raised there, when I was a River Rat down here in San Antonio my two female roommates were from Chicago and my girlfriend was from Canada. Later on I took a trip to visit my old roommates in Chicago and fell in love with it. I have all sorts of family in ill. but not in Chicago. I really plan to move there soon but my only concern is I live in pure heat being so close to Mexico I don't know if I can handle the winters but I think all in all it will be worth it.
I mean we don't even hit freezing points here in SA...maybe one in every 3 to 5 years but we get floods cause we live in a valley but it really only hurts people that live by all our lakes. |

Thanks for this thread :whip: :whip: :whip:
Just had a bedbug outbreak in my apt a few weeks ago & still fighting them off :whip:
It's the first time I've experienced these critters. My roommate and I spent about $100 in the fight against them. The bites are really no big deal for me. It's trying to go to sleep and feeling dozens of them crawling on you that sucks.
Funny enough, my roommate was way worse about them than I was. I tried telling him to look at it in a positive light. Sure the bites itch, but there's some comfort in knowing you're feeding a family of thousands. This line of reasoning didn't go over too well. Just glad we're rid of most of them now. Nomnomnomnomnomnomnomnom :nervous: :eyespop:
NYC has bedbug outbreaks because of the high volume of tourists that carry them here btw. And yes, this city ages you faster than most. Worst is flying in from places like California where everyone's glowing and landing in New York or New Jersey where everyone looks beat the up and stressed out.
Just glad I'm from here because wherever I decide to spend the rest of my days will be a way easier place to live in by default. |

Chicago is great. One of my best friends I grew up with is originally from there, and over the years I've gone there with him at least 10 times. We usually stay with friends at their places right in the center of downtown... it's ing awesome. Probably my favorite city to visit in the U.S. (although I still haven't been to San Francisco or Dallas).
Edit: WOAH at the above post! You had bedbugs!? :eyespop: |

Dallas is tight Houston is alright Austin is a place of it's own making IMO but I love it there. But San Fran would be nice to see.
There is an old quote: In your life, live in New York once but leave before it makes you hard and bitter and live in San Fran once in your lifetime but leave before it makes you soft (and I don't mean in a gay way) it's just San Fran is really laid back.
But Chicago is really where I want to live in the USA, I would like to leave this country before the last *sigh* but Chicago first :) |

| I've been to Austin and Houston... couldn't believe how sprawling and large Houston was. It took me like an hour and a half to get from one end of the city limits to the other. Austin is really cool... I saw some of the hottest girls I'd ever seen in my life during the 4 days I was there. |

Yeah it's an odd small city but you see people walking around at 3am going to Java houses and after parties and such...it's like a really small kinda hipster city. Plus the college adds to the population. But I don't think I ever met to many cool college kids there but I am not saying that there are none. |
