A balance is key as someone already posted it. Now Red meat is bad for your colon but come on you don't need it with every meal. Just balance it out. I have a Vegan friend that won't take certain vitamins because it has Shark cartilage in it....I'm like do what you think is right man but I think it's foolish. We have a plenty of sharks.

When the actor John Wayne died, an autopsy revealed that his intestines had grown to 12 (30 cm's) in diameter with only a small opening in the middle to allow the digestive process to painfully carry on. They said his colon weighed 40 pounds but I think that was a rumor or exaggerated as he also had colon cancer and he was about as red meat as you get in Western Culture.

Don't flame on me, I love some red meat all the time but as we get older, balance is key but who has not seen this is obvious.

Just my 1 cent.

Of course it it. That's why you eat fish twice a week, some chicken once or twice and then red meat the other 3-4 days, or maybe one day with little to no meat at all.

The best way really. The healthiest and happiest people are those who can achieve a balance in life, not go with these retarded fads that pop up every 6 months and then try and force their habits onto others.

It's the same with keeping a healthy weight. You eat a balanced diet and do regular exercise. You don't overwork your body and diet because that never lasts and if it does, most people aren't all that happy about it.

What did you eat them with? That is important.

You don't have to eat meat to have a balanced diet. Some people just don't really want it or crave it. As for your friend that won't take shark vitamins, I say the sharks and get your nutrition :p

You don't, but it's a hell of a lot easier and cheaper if you do. Exotic nuts with certain properties from one single corner of the world aren't exactly available at your local 7/11 everywhere in the world. You guys are too used to the comfortable Western lifestyle.

Yeah, I def don't agree with red meat as part of a balance diet.

I preferred the white meats. Less fatty and much easier to digest. Plus, I grossed myself out so bad with red meat that I pretty much said - fuk u. I ate it soooo muuuuuccch 3 years ago (damn u george foreman grill!!) Then I went to an 'all u can eat' meat restaurant - with my bf and his friends. I was begging him to turn the coaster to red so they would stop coming to our table. BEGGING!:haha:

But NY is very easy to go organic & natural & veggie. I can find things at my regular grocery. I can go to Trader Joes - a natural & CHEAP market. Whole foods for my rice cheese + some other things but they are a lil expensive. So not much!

Why so abrasive with the West? :(

& alot of ppl 'warn' me about getting my protein but it isn't that hard. My soy burgers have 17 g's of protein.

I may not get it in a meat source but mixing things like rice + beans makes a complete protein.

That's just meatatarians desperate at the thought their diet is not universal, don't worry. I've been getting that all the time, for 10 years.
