You agreed with someone who did. |

I agreed with him for saying its what respresents the genre because to a non-listener or a casual listener thats what they will see it as. Neither of us said we looked down on the genre, sorry sir but thats just putting words into our mouths. |

That doesn't mean it's a representation. It's a sample, yes, but anyone who believes this is what all uplifting trance actually is as a result of the video is being misled. My little rant was going off of the title "All uplifting trance is the same", not necessarily anything you've said.

What kind of music or songs do you like? There's quite a bit of variety in uplifting trance and depending on what kind of music you like, you might enjoy one artist but not another. |

prog/electro house mostly
I stopped listing to uplifting a while ago, just got tired of those big wood block kick and massive snares. |

one of my fav tunes. Kinda a scot project knock off but the break down is perfection. Alas this is old. I don't know why i'm the only person that seems to love everything scot project does.
some recent tracks of his all with uplifting original sounding melodies

He is by far the most consistent innovative EDM producer of the last decade. I have no idea why nobody talks about him West Of Europe. |

Then quite honestly you probably wouldn't like uplifting, it just simply appeals to different things than prog or electro does. But, I'll try.
This is a pretty good variety:

First one is calm and emotional, a bit like baeleric trance. Second one is much more freeform than most uplifting and very melodic, it constantly changes and avoids a lot of the repetition uplifting is infamous for. Third one is a bit more generic but very energetic with an awesome climax melody. Fourth one is one of my favorite tracks, it has a really energetic bassline and has one of the most serene breakdowns I know of in trance.
I imagine some of you might hate them but to say it's musically uninspired is a bit of a stretch, at the very least there's definitely more to the genre than Beatfulx's video would lead you to believe.
@M4B, honestly I've just been listening to the videos you've been plugging of Scot Project lately and I have to say he's definitely underrated around here. I wouldn't call him uplifting but he's one hell of a producer either way. |

Andy Blueman's remix is my favorite track of all time, probably not your cup of tea but the breakdown is absolutely amazing. He also did an orchestral mix of it, it has nothing to do with trance but it's still incredible.
Also yeah, I'm not a giant fan of Daniel Kandi but if you want examples of unique melodies in trance his tracks are a nice starting point. |

disagree
I find this so fluffy and generic. If you can't tell the producer by the track, it is generic filler. It is like bad alphazone from 2000 except they actually had some good tracks.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f-ry2JqwIck it just sounds like bad that.
Guys like flutlicht, SHOKK, Scot Project, Alphazone pretty much took uplifting trance as far as it can go. I have yet to hear anything that even comes close to the original guys. The problem is for some reason , the western hemisphere has been inundated with awful british trance which has always been second rate generic . |
